Chepstow Horse Racing Tips 6th May 08

May 6, 2008

Donald Keys chuckles at the thought of being paid to write these tipsHow do, gents and ladies. Tuesday racing at Chepstow eh? That’s a funny coincidence as last Tuesday I was having lunch with a mate and we got to chatting about Chepstow, as you do.  I said to him, “Left Handed. The smallest and tightest flat course in Britain, is virtually on the turn throughout. Horses must be able to act on the course. Low numbers highly favoured in sprints.” before biting into my cheesy chomper. He left the table that day a better man.

I’m starting at the crack of dawn this morning so hopefully it won’t be a mad rush as usual. Monday went as Mondays invariably do but let’s not dwell on it as it’s Tuesday. If Monday’s are the rain then Tuesdays to me are the rainbows. Sun breaking through the clouds, pot of gold at the end, ruby slippers, leprechauns running about crazy and wild-eyed, “Catch me y’ bastards, catch me!”. Brilliant stuff. Magic permeates the air on a Tuesday so let’s find some magic picks.

2.10 Looking for an e/w shot here and it’s pretty tight but I’m going to take Personify as the old Donald Keys intuition tells me it quite likes this track. It’s 18.00’s just now @ betfair.

2.40 Themwerethedays - they certainly were. Around 10/1 for this lovely and capable of placing say I.

3.10 Pantherii e/w looks interesting to the Keys eyes and brain. Currently 11.00’s @ betfair and with a little luck it’ll go well. Ryan Moore has faith. So must we.

3.40 I’m going to avoid Ryan Moore this time and Merrymadcap - instead, after much deliberation and many cigarettes, I’m looking at Ermine Grey @ 7.6 - tight one this but if it just follows the rainbow and dodges those leprechauns….

4.10 Just Rob @ around 8.5 has a chance of doing something. Something ok. Probably not something brilliant. But it’ll be something. A place. Somewhere. I’m ticking it anyway.

4.40 I spy a little delight in Turkish Sultan sitting @ 20/1 with betfred and I think this lovely-ish animal is worth taking e/w. If you were to ask me why, I’d say that my hunch was tingling. And it’s tingling again with Unlimited @ 16/1 also betfred. Mr Keys, he say, ’yes’.  Indian Edge was tempting but as the Racing Post say: “all seven career wins have come over further.”

Somewhere over the rainbow, chaps. We’ll be there. Bye for now.

£100 in free bets at Betfred
£100 free bets from Bet365

I love them both. Betfred really need to work on their site though. I find those menus really fiddly and annoying. Bet365 on the other hand are just about perfect. Navigation could be improved mind. I’ll e-mail Tom. He’s in charge of navigation.
