Re: Scottish Cup - 6/7/8 January
Would have to agree with everything Para said. Clyde fulled deserved their win today and if Celtic had pulled a draw out of that then it would not have been deserved.
The defence just looked terrible, its like they were the first division youngsters and the Clyde forwards were top of the SPL players. Right across the back line, not one of them looked comfortable on the ball, gave it away too easily, lacked any sort of pace. The pitch didn't look the best surface but thats not an excuse, it was the same pitch for both sides and Clyde were good enough on it.
Peason got punted to the wing despite a good performance in the centre of midfield at Hearts last week which. Nakamura never really got into the game but along with Keane, seemed the only Celtic player comfortable with the ball at his feet.
Up front, Hartson and Maloney never linked once, the service to them was generally poor and overall, it looked a very disjointed Celtic side.
Keane had a decentish game, came into it more in the 2nd half as Celtic were driving forward, but you would expect him to sort of show up against Clyde.
Overaall, a terrible Celtic performance, no one would get pass marks but well done Clyde who looked the better side from beginning to end and but for some strange decisions and other factors, could have won by more.
I feel for Strachan a bit as just when he starts to get the fans behind him, putting away the memories of the Artmedia result, opening a gap at the top of the league, being 17 points clear of Rangers, another shocker of a result comes along. He could end up leading Celtic to an easy title success, adding a League Cup and his season will still be remembered for two cup embaressments.
