NEWI Cefn Druids boss Dixie McNeil has praised the commitment of his side despite remaining rooted to the foot of the Welsh Premier.

The Plaskynaston men - who lost to 2-1 Aberystwyth on Saturday - have won just once in 17 outings and continue their fight for survival with a trip to Caersws tonight.

"I felt sorry for the lads on Saturday," said McNeil.. "I couldn't fault the commitment of every one of the players. They were the better side and deserved more, but we're just not getting the rub of the green at the moment.

"Aber's first goal was offside and their second took a massive deflection."

The Druids could be forced into one change with Matthew Cook likely to miss out through work commitments.

Caersws look to make a swift riposte after seeing their 11-match unbeaten run in the league halted by Saturday's 4-3 home reverse against Caernarfon.

Manager Mickey Evans, however, was heartened by the way his side battled back from a four-goal deficit.

Defender Hugh Clarke is expected to be fit despite suffering a toe injury and forward Neil Mitchell returns from a one-match ban.

Midfielder Graham Jones could also be back, Chris Venables is pushing for a place, but forward Neville Thompson is out.
