Re: name ring tones

OK just for anyone that is having trouble getting their ring tone to work.
First of all you need to make sure you have win rar installed, if you don't download it and install it from...

http://www.download.com/WinRAR/3000-2250-10007677.html

You may need to make sure any popup blockers are switched off to get the download.

OK once that is installed you download your ringtone and it will be called something like fiona.rar or whatever it is.
Double click to open it and winrar should open.
Now you should see a file called fiona.mp3 , right click this and choose
"Extract to the specified folder"
Now choose a folder where you want to put your new ring tone and then click ok.

The ringtone will very quickly extract and there will now be a file called fiona.mp3 in the folder you chose. Now you need to get this on your mobile phone. You can do this a few different ways. If you have a bluetooth dongle send it to your phone using that. If you connect your phone to your PC using a cable then send it over that.
You should really have one of those 2 options available.
If you are really struggling and you have e mail on your phone you maybe able to email your song to an email address you can access from your phone.
Alot of phones come with an email address as standard and you could use this. You will of course have to check it can take attachemnts up to the size of the mp3 you are sending.

Most modern phones can play mp3s ok. If you you'll have to convert your ring tone to a format your phone can play. To convert an mp3 to a wma you should simply be able to rename the file and use wma instead of mp3 and it should work ok. Any problems with anything just post up and someone should be on hand to help.
