Re: Newcastle Managers Position

What's there to do in 'managing' a club anyway? I reckon I could do it. Seriously. Get myself an expert tactician , fitness coach , good scouting system and away I'd go.

Seems to me it's all about getting the players to believe in themselves, create a real sense of team spirit and avoid having the 'one team one star' syndrome that you can see all over the world.

Newcastle = Shearer Arsenal = Henry Liverpool = Gerrard Manyoo= Rooney
...so often the rest of the squad read and see the attention they are given and end up believeing that without them in the team they aren't as good. I know this is a slight generalisation , but look at Celtic and Henrik...he WAS Celtic
Bayern Munich and Ballack...Real and Ronaldo...Barca and Ronaldhino....

A good squad is one where you can take out anyone and still maintain the level of excellence. I think it's detrimental to have 1, often 2 players without whom everyone worries.

Bit of a ramble...need a fag now anyway...anyone remember the tv show "Scully" ..the episode when King Kenny Dalglish was in it?..brilliant.
