Oen is a staggeringly good 4/5 shot for the final, he won by half of a second in qualifying and set a new olympic record in qualifying. However my bet is Kosuke Kitajima who won gold at Athens. He is a massive 2.86 on betfair.

100M womens Freestyle should be won by Trickett but the 4/7 is no value for me... 400 Womens Freestyle looks a 3 horse race with the favourite being Pellegrini she is odds on though and holds no value. Mens 4*100 metres should also be dominated by one team... THE USA however another no bet

Basically the 8/11 for Germany is far too big so £20 @ 8/11 (Bluesq) they should win with Australia and UK filling the medals...

Mens 200 - Phelps is favourite but I must have a tiny dabble on Park @ 10/1 (Bet365 among many) He has already won one gold in the Freestyle and this price is purely on Phelps' reputation.
Park should be around 4s or 5s IMHO so £5 Park @ 10/1 and Park to finish best without Phelps @ 6/4 (Paddy Power) £10

Mens 100 back - This is a tight one, there is an odds on fave who looks the class in the field, however there is no value in it for me

men's 4x200 free, - USA easy but NO BET
women's 200 free, - Pellegrini is the best athlete in the field, she is up against Katie Hoff and Isakovic and hence she is a decent price... Pellegrini broke the world record in the prelims and as such her price of 10/11 is a massive rick for me. Skybet offer the odds and my biggest bet so far is Pellegrini.
women's 200 IM - This is the race of the day with 3 very capable swimmers, Coventry, Rice and Coughlin (Hoff is also in the field) and its too tight for me to call.

Tomorrow we have one very interesting final in the swimming, Womens 200 fly....

Fastest qualifier is Liu in lane 4 with her main rivals in 5 and 3. Liu is 5/2 second favourite behind the world record holder and athlete in lane 5 Jessica Schipper.

Liu has the fastest time of the season from the semis when she set the 7th fastest time ever. She beat Schipper that day.


However, Schipper was in front until the last 50 metres where she was able to take it easier. At 11/8 she is a bet in this final... The Chinese need a big personal best to win this.

She is my only bet of the day
