I wasn't at all impressed by the Holland defence against USA and thought it was one of the most shaky, the most wobbly, the most nervy performances I can recall seeing in a long time. Schoolboy stuff. I thought they were quite a poor side overall in fact and I wouldn't touch them at those odds. Never. An average American side really gave them a bit of a doing 2nd half and Holland were very lucky to steal a point with a free kick in injury time. Japan might even be capable of springing a wee surprise.

I'm not sure what the tables situation is at the moment but will add them. Be nice to know where we stand.

I said in the other thread that Nigeria were going to be missing two defenders for their match against USA through suspension. Need to double check though. They looked another pretty poor side to me against Japan until taking the lead and Japan being forced to open up a bit. They did play some good stuff then though but the Americans have been pretty solid overall so far. I'm not sure how the Nigerians will cope without acres of space to run into.

Actually, I really need to see what is what with these games. Tables coming....

Need to have a little something on Japan @ 13.00 betfair - obviously they're playing for nothing other than pride but that might even help them in an attacking sense. Never seen a team fluff so many efforts right in front of goal. Reeelaaax. The horrendous defending of Holland against USA means there's no way I could ever back them with any confidence anyway.

The Japanese, elegant, organised, technically brilliant at times, but ineffective on the whole, will be hoping to leave China with at least a point for pride when they take on the Dutch in Shenyang on Wednesday. "Even though our Olympic journey is over, we will go out in our last match and try to play the football we know how to play, and try to get a result and a few goals too," coach Sorimachi said.
Foppe de Haan's Dutch, who need a win to reach the quarter-finals and have yet to play the kind of football expected of European champions, can consider themselves warned.

An interesting game ther is, Ivory Coast - Australia, it kicks off in some 50 mins, from wat I see the only safe way for the Ivoiriennes is to win in that game, because even if they draw, there are some theroetical possibilities that they wont get through.
From what I saw of the football tournament, IC are an outfit as strong as theit first team, and there should be no problems with the Australians who desperately need a win, so they will not be in a position to defend. And in both previous games they were outplayed, though they managed to get a point.

So 1.65 at most bookies should be a relatively safe bet for the morning.

Snowman what about making it a double of Belgium and Ivory coast. Belgium lost against Brazil in their first match and they beat China in the second. To be sure of qualification they will have to beat New Zealand and to me that is a sure bet. Bet365 has Belgium to win at 1.33 and Ivory coast at 1.66, a double will be 2.21.
For me i will play it safe and play a double of Belgium and 1x for an Ivory coast win or draw with huge stake and a small bet on a double of Ivory Coast and Belgium.
