Re: Dave's Brilliant Record 25/7/06 - 24/7/07

Andy Murray vs. Andy Roddick : Murray to win 5pts @ 2.37 (Paddy Power, Blue Square)
Jumping on the Murray bandwagon again. The bookies seem to have this priced up on 2 factors - reputation and Murray's fitness. If that was all you had to consider, the odds would be fair. However

a) Form
Murray is in brilliant form, as previously documented. His game is on fire, and his confidence is soaring. Roddick has struggled, beating plenty of journeymen, but falling against the better players.

b) Brad Gilbert
Knows Roddick's game inside out, and will surely have a tactical plan worked out for how Murray can beat him.

c) H2H
2-0 to Murray, 5 sets to 0. Clearly has the reuturning game to beat Roddick. His pretty average serve won't be too much of a problem, as Roddick's returning game is pretty average.

d) Fitness
Might have been a problem in an afteroon baseline game, but the cooler temperatures, combined with the large number of short points in games that Roddick plays will not trouble Murray.
