Re: Omaha hand
Hi Wazik,
Sorry m8 I really dont have much of a clue at 4 card omaha - I have played it a little but it really is not something I have spent a lot of time on. Weirdly I have played a LOT of 6 and 8 card omaha in live cash games. I really enjoy these games from the action pots that result but they are quite different to 4 card omaha for obvious reasons and the hands are played a bit different.
As for the hand youve posted it seems fine to me. I am not so sure about leading the flop in this case tho. This generates big pots (which of course you want to do when you have a draw to the nuts) as it is you have a nice draw however the problem is the onboard flush draw. If a club comes you are dead and of course there is the worst case scenario of someone having the straight draw + clubs to have a total freeroll on you. I would have liked a lead if the board had been rainbow with your draw however.
On the turn I dont think you can check it. Pushing is perfect. There are FAR too many free cards that hurt you here. Not only that but you dont just have the nuts, you have the bigger straight draw as well + hearts (I have no idea how often roughly backdoor 7 high flushes will be good in 4 card - in 6o it would be practically useless but I imagine it has some equity here occasionally). Of course someone might spike a bigger heart flush or clubs on you but thats the wild game of omaha - I agree totally with the push here.
Sorry I couldnt be of more help wazik, 4o aint really my game - perhaps there are some experts around here that can provide more insight?
