Re: FA Cup 5-7th Jan

Rovers v Hereford
Hereford manager Graham Turner is contemplating selection changes ahead of the trip to meet FA Cup third-round opponents Bristol Rovers.

Striker Andy Williams, now recovered from illness, could be in line for his first start since Port Vale were beaten 4-0 at Edgar Street in the competition's second round more than a month ago.

And Martyn Giles could also come into the reckoning now the defender has recovered from the dizzy spells which first began afflicting him during training sessions.

The 23-year-old has since been given the all-clear to return to action but has not featured for the Bulls since the middle of October.

Meanwhile, manager Graham Turner is expecting a stern examination at the Memorial Stadium where Rovers are just one point and one place behind Hereford in the League Two table.

He said: ``We are expecting a tough test but we have been in good form recently and, historically, have a good FA Cup pedigree.''

Bristol Rovers boss Paul Trollope welcomes back Sean Rigg for the match. The striker has been sidelined since suffering a broken jaw during the first-round win over Barrow in November, but will be in the squad to face the Bulls.

Byron Anthony is again ruled out after sustaining knee ligament damage during the recent draw with Walsall.

The defender is set to undergo surgery and is facing a further couple of months on the sidelines, so Craig Hinton will again deputise.

Ryan Green is also doubtful to face his former club at the Memorial Stadium. The defender suffered a groin strain during the warm-down after the 1-0 home win over struggling Torquay on New Year's Day.

Stoke v Millwall
Midfielder Peter Sweeney is set for a surprise recall when Stoke host League One strugglers Millwall in the FA Cup third round on Friday night.

Sweeney, 22, has been out of the first-team picture since October but is poised to come in on the left-hand side of midfield following the return of loan stars Lee Hendrie and Patrik Berger to Aston Villa.

Jeff Whitley has also returned to Cardiff after his loan but boss Tony Pulis has been boosted by the news that fellow loanee Salif Diao has been granted permission to play by parent club Liverpool and is set to continue his central midfield partnership with Darel Russell.

Left-back Carl Dickinson is cup-tied after turning out for Blackpool so Clint Hill will continue to fill in, and Andy Wilkinson, who has also been on loan with the Seasiders, will be on the bench as cover.

Liam Lawrence will start his first game since making his #500,000 permanent switch from Sunderland on Tuesday.

Millwall will be without key midfielder Alan Dunne for the match as the 24-year-old must serve a one-match ban after collecting his fifth booking of the season in the Lions' 4-1 win at Brentford in League One on Boxing Day.

Also missing for the Lions will be on-loan duo Liam Trotter and Charlie Lee, whose clubs - Ipswich and Tottenham respectively - do not want to risk their players being cup-tied later in the competition

Midfielder Marvin Elliott and forward Marvin Williams remain one booking away from a one-match suspension, while defender Danny Senda could return after missing the New Year's Day win over Gillingham with a head injury.

Long-term casualties Tony Craig (shoulder), Jody Morris (knee) and Mark Phillips (appendix) remain sidelined.
