Re: CC League Two: 6th Jan

Boston Utd v Accrington Stanley
Boston are without skipper Paul Ellender after he incurred a one-game ban for picking up his fifth booking of the season against Lincoln.

David Galbraith and Francis Green were both restored to the starting line-up for the 2-1 win over Barnet and are expected to continue.

Tim Ryan's move to Darlington should be completed by the weekend, while Anthony Elding left for Stockport earlier in the week.

Despite the departure of two regulars, first-team coach Paul Raynor insists morale has been good in training.

He said: ``The spirit has been good this week and footballers like nothing more than winning football matches, so obviously the atmosphere is good at the moment.

``Everybody is looking forward to facing Accrington and we need another solid, passionate performance from the lads and hopefully that will bring three more points.''

Accrington manager John Coleman could hand a debut to former Nottingham Forest defender Alan Rogers.

The full-back joined Stanley this week and could go straight into the side, while Andrew Mangan and defender Phil Edwards are back from suspension.

Coleman has a number of long-term concerns, although attacker Rommy Boco is expected to return from a back problem in a couple of weeks. Skipper Peter Cavanagh (knee) is also likely to be out for a similar spell but defender Andrew Tretton (knee) has not played this season.

Defender Danny Ventre (fractured tibia) and striker Leighton McGivern (ankle) are long-term absentees.

Shrewsbury v Hartlepool
Shrewsbury manager Gary Peters has fitness doubts over a trio of players.

Striker Derek Asamoah is still struggling with the ankle injury he sustained in the 3-0 win over Hereford last month and will be given until the last minute to prove his fitness.

Kelvin Langmead missed the New Year's Day win over Stockport with a hamstring injury so Daniel Hall is expected to continue in the back four.

And fellow defender Neil Ashton is also a doubt after a knee problem kept him out of that game.

One defender who will not be returning to the Shrews' first team is Gavin Cowan, who moved to Conference side Grays this week, while striker Glynn Hurst has completed his permanent move to League Two rivals Bury.

Harlepool boss Danny Wilson is poised to hand new signing Richie Barker his debut.

Barker, 31, arrived at the club for an undisclosed fee this week and is expected to start in attack.

The Pools boss will use Barker as a direct replacement for Darryl Duffy, who has returned to Hull after a successful loan spell that brought five goals in 10 appearances.

Michael Nelson remains sidelined with a medial knee ligament injury, while Mark Tinkler (toe) is unlikely to recover in time.

Wycombe v Rochdale
Wycombe are set to be without their first-choice centre-halves Mike Williamson and Will Antwi.

Williamson misses the game through suspension after picking up five bookings this season, and defensive partner Antwi is a major injury doubt after suffering a groin strain against Hereford on Monday.

Chris Palmer replaced Antwi at half-time of that game, while Stephen O'Halloran moved inside, and with full-back Sam Stockley still struggling with a hamstring problem, manager Paul Lambert may have to call on youngsters Lewis Christon and Tom Cadmore.

Veteran striker Tommy Mooney was rested against Hereford and should come back into the starting line-up alongside top scorer Jermaine Easter.

Goalkeeper Ricardo Batista will play after signing on loan until the end of the season to end speculation he may be recalled by Fulham in the wake of Antti Niemi's injury. Midfielder Sergio Torres is still building up his fitness following a long-term knee injury.

New Rochdale manager Keith Hill will be forced into at least one change for his first game in permanent charge.

Dale, who have won their last two games 4-0, will definitely be without defender Nathan Stanton after he suffered a groin injury in the New Year's Day thrashing of Grimsby.

Physio Andy Thorpe said: ``It's not a major strain but we still believe he'll be better off resting it rather than risking any further damage. He'll be unlikely to figure.''

That could mean a recall after nine games for Mark Jackson, who is available for selection after a ligament injury in his foot.

Midfielder Darrell Clarke has returned to Hartlepool following the end of his loan spell but former Chester captain Stephen Vaughan has arrived at Spotland and should go straight into the squad.
