Re: CC League Two: 6-9th Jan

Im glad i didnt get involved. the overs looked good especially now after the event Interesting game tonight i thought. Looks tricky. Grimsby have had 3 bad results in a row but maybe their 'talisman' will help them. Looks a bit dodgy as a betting proposition

Grimsby v Chester
Grimsby are boosted by the return of talisman Gary Jones for the visit of Chester.

Jones has been suspended for the past four games but should come straight back into the side for the Blundell Park showdown.

His return is welcome with the Mariners having drawn a blank in their last three games and four out of their last five.

But Town will have defensive problems against Chester with Nick Fenton starting a two-match ban, while Justin Whittle could again be missing with a shoulder injury.

Striker Gary Cohen remains sidelined with a long-term knee injury but former Liverpool trainee Nicky Rizzo should make his debut after joining from MK Dons on a one-month loan deal.

The 27-year-old is keen to play regular first team football after finding it difficult to force himself into the first-team reckoning at the National Hockey Stadium.

Chester manager Mark Wright has no fresh injury concerns.

Defenders Ashley Westwood and Paul Linwood (both hamstring) were both doubts ahead of the goalless draw with Ipswich at the weekend.

But Westwood completed the 90 minutes at the Deva Stadium and Linwood was an unused substitute so both should be available.

Midfielders Glenn Cronin and Rob Marsh-Evans, who have not featured this season, remain on the sidelines with foot injuries.

City are unbeaten in three matches away from home and have won the last two on their travels.

The original game was to be played on Saturday but was postponed after the Blues were handed their FA Cup reprieve.
