didn't like teh 1.8s on Tranmere, but I found 1.87 at
Pinnacle a little while ago, and at those levels I was willing to take a small position. Tranmere did well to keep a clean sheet against Crewe mid-week. I think Ronnie Moore will be keen to put one over
Colin Todd's men. The City manager suggested the 2-0 win was amongst their
most comfortable wins of the season, when the two sides last met. Ronnie
Moore is placing great emphasis on the defensive side of Tramere's game -
and when they keep clean sheets they usually win games. Tranmere have a bit
more to play for - they are currently hovering around the promotion zone,
and a win here could be very important. Bradford are languishing in
mid-table mediocrity.
Tranmere have a clean bill of health, and with Windass out, a couple of
players returning from injury for Bradford the home side looks to have
everything going for them here. Windass was shipped out for purely financial
reasons, and that can never be good for morale at a club. If you do chose to
get involved, keep the stakes low, however - Bradford aren't a bad side in
open play, and do have a few decent players - I know a few clubs were
looking at Jermaine Johnson, for example. Moreover, Bradford have only lost
1 of their last 4 away games, and Tranmere's recent form hasn't been
convincing. While their home record overall is impressive (9-3-2) and
Bradford's away form is average (4-3-7), Tranmere have had some strange
results at home (like losing to Gillingham, who are terrible away from
home).
I wouldn't have taken this too far below the 1.87 on offer a bit earlier, but at those levels I thought it was just about value. Bradford look like they'll struggle for goals without Windass.
