Re: English Premiership: 9th April

Quote:
Attention switches away from the title race on Easter Monday as both Chelsea and Manchester United play in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

Instead, the race for Europe and the battle to avoid relegation come to the fore as six games take place in England's top flight.

Bolton and Everton face off at The Reebok Stadium in the meeting of fifth and sixth, whilst Arsenal will be hoping to stave off the threat of both sides when they travel to Newcastle, live on PremPlus.

Portsmouth are still targeting Europe and visit Watford, who look to be dead and buried at the bottom of the table, in the early kick-off on Sky Sports 1.

Charlton have boosted their own prospects of survival with an improved run of form and will hope to continue their revival in a home game against Reading which is also live on Sky Sports 1.

The Addicks are only two points behind Wigan at present, and Paul Jewell's side are in desperate need of a result when they take on a resurgent Aston Villa in the Midlands.

Fulham are another side hoping to avoid being pulled into the drop zone and host Manchester City, who are just two points ahead of them in 14th.

Watford v Portsmouth - 12.45pm, Sky Sports 1
No team has conceded more home goals than Watford this season (21). Pompey have gone six Premiership away games since a win.

Aston Villa v Wigan Athletic - 3pm
Aston Villa have failed to defeat Wigan in three Premiership matches. Wigan have won only one of their last eight Premiership away games.

Bolton Wanderers v Everton - 3pm
These two sides have not drawn a Premiership game since December 2002. Everton have only failed to score in one of their last six games against Bolton.

Fulham v Manchester City - 3pm
None of the Fulham players who have scored at home against Manchester City are still at the club. No side has won more away games in 2007 than City.

Newcastle United v Arsenal - 3pm, PremPlus
Arsenal have won only two of the last 10 Premiership trips to St James' Park. Newcastle have won more away games than home games against London sides this season.

Charlton Athletic v Reading - 8pm, Sky Sports 1
There has not been a draw at the Valley in 2007. Manchester City are the only home side to fail to score against Reading in 2007.
