adding to that, there's also the Alan Pardew connection with Reading, as a player at Cyrstal Plance, he served under current Reading manager Steve Coppell and took the team to the FA Cup finals with the famous goal versus Liverpool, and then as a manager, brining Reading to prominence from being division two strugglers (103 wins in 213 games under his reign) ... with Europe not a priority, wouldn't be surprised if Coppell lends a helping hand to an old Reading legend ...
