Keem - yeah it's my own work, I originally wrote it about 5 years ago and just keep updating it each year. There's no fucking chance I'm typing all that out every 12 months
Slick - the last French-bred winner was Lutteur back in 1909, the logic behind this stat is that they are not bred for extreme distances and tend to run out of petrol a lot earlier than their rivals. They have been getting closer lately though, with CLAN ROYAL (twice) and ROYAL AUCLAIR placing in the last 3 runnings.
In previous years I've been a bit sceptical about this stat but having watched CLAN ROYAL empty last year I'm starting to accept it as a worthwhile one. Just looked at this years entries and there seems more French breds than ever taking part this time, so the stat could be handy.
