Re: BBC Sports Personality of the Year - 2007
I reckon the public is clammering for a successful British sporting icon. So much of the media coverage with regards to English sport in particular is concerned with sportsmen being overpaid or pissing about and not acting professionally. Anyone that keeps their head down, does well at their sport and is reasonably friendly has a decent chance of winning it.
I think Khan is a cert for the title some day, just a case of when. I think it is more down to his schedule than his ability. A big title fight on Terrestrial is a winner as far as the public is concerned. Any idea who Khan is down to fight this year?
I am more interested anyway in longshots to lay off at a later date. Andy Murray may well win but I dont think he's such a good pop at those odds. Plus I hear today he is injured. Hopefully the first of many this year.
