Only six players from last season's squad, when Lions finished third, stayed this year. Lot of young players came and this is probably the main reason why they are without a win in last four matches. In last match against Home United on away they conceded in last minutes. That may have bad influence on squad, especially with inexperienced players in it. On the other hand, although always underdog, Balestier improving through the years (10th in 2005 and 7th in 2006). After not so good start of the new season, they won two consecutive games. In last game against Geylang United, Balestier even managed to come from one goal minus at the half. Now after the first home win in new season squad confidence must be high and they will certanly try to build on that. Guests are still without defender S Rajendran and midfielder Ibrahim Dawood, while defender J Kalaiselvan is back in the squad. Midfielder Leandro Rodrigues is still out and midfielder Zulfadli Zainal Abidin is back in squad for Lions.
Although history of previous meetings at Jalan Besar favors hosts here, three Lions wins and one draw, I'll go with current form and confidence rate. I expect Balestier not to lose.

Pick:
Balestier Khalsa on double chance @1.84
