Re: 99 After A Pre-Flop Raise - What's The Plan??

Its a spot you find quite a lot really, you get the same sort of 'dilemma' when faced with 1 overcard to your PP as well on a regular basis. Difference is with this sort of flop you literally only are going to be behind to an overpair so you have to play past the flop really, hard to give that much credit to a pfr as to fold 99 here. Id check/call whatever he bet basically. Id fold if the button called a decent bet from him though.

You could bet it but people still like to hold onto their overcards quite a lot after theyve raised with them so it wont really help much and you might even get raised which would suck. Id rather check and hopefully get a bit of info from what the pfr bets (if indeed he does, its ok if he doesnt cos it means youve got him beat really) and what the button does also. I dont like betting into 2 players either there.

Presuming you check/call and the button folds id check the turn again and if he likes to bet again then id just give him credit then. If hes gona fire 2 barrels on overcards then good luck to him.
