Re: 20/20 World Tournament

I agree at the lottery aspect of this due to there being little previous form to go on other than Jo'Burg historically having high scoring 50 over games.

There are plenty of novice captains like Vettori,Dhoni,Malik etc and those captains with experience have played little 20/20 like Ponting,Jayawardene and Collingwood.

For all Englands talk of picking specialists I can see the line up having Pieterson at 3 Flintoff at 4 and Collingwood at 5. Even if this isn't exactly right these three will be pivital to our sucess and they have not played much.

Also it will be interesting to see if the often mentioned idea about having "slow" bowlers who completely take the pace off the ball holds water after this tournament. It will be interesting to see the battle between Snape/Scholfield (if they play) against the Aussies on Friday. In the 20/20 final here between Kent and Gloucs there were only two overs of spin from Tredwell in the entire game and it was still low scoring.

So just some random thoughts which really go nowhere except to suggest there may be some high scores along the way especially with some early mismatches in the first 9 games. I have therefore bought the highest first 6 over score at 84 on spreadfair even though it will mean a team needing to score at over 14 an over.
