Well the weekend is nearly over
Its AW Monday and I think I have a few decent betting propositions tomorrow.
The proper grass racing first.
Leicester - The Flat course includes an oval circuit of a mile and five furlongs with a five furlong run-in. There is also a straight mile course on which low numbers are favoured in soft conditions.
Although the standard is not of the highest level, the racing is competitive with large fields not uncommon. Many trainers like to introduce newcomers here so the maidens can produce some important pointers to the following year's Classics. Henry Cecil boasts the best strike rate amongst the trainers whilst Pat Eddery and Frankie Dettori are both worth following at the Midlands track.
The maiden is of interest to me, Provence is the obvious one. This horse has run well in two group 3 maidens around Newmarket. She was beaten only a short distance in both outings and whilst failing to quicken LTO she does seem suited to this distance. This time she is down to class 6 and looks the obvious selection. The other good thing about this race is that it has some other good rated animals in the field, one from Cumani and a Blockley debutant. This could ensure a price of around evens for the filly. If so lump on.
2.10 Kempton -
Dan Chillingworth could be value against an odds on shot - a price of 7s or so could be an EW steal.
2.40 Kempton - A blinkered first time runner catches my eye, Royal Challenge I think can unseat the odds on shot in this race. I think any improvement will leave this horse with a great opportunity to land the spoils.
3.40 Encores was impressive when finishing behind Seneshal last time out, that horse disappointed early this week but Encores must have a chance with Spencer riding.
Lingfield starts with a favorite that I like Littledodayno and I cannot see past this one as long as its odds against.
I am going to have
£10 Provence
£1 EW
Dan Chillingworth
£1 EW Royal Challenge
£2.50 Encores
£10 Littledodayno
Plus doubles and trebles to make it upto £30
