1610: Emily's rumoured departure from X-Factor will leave
Sky Bet with a five-figure payout.
The bookmaker had a host of X-Factor specials in the weeks leading up to the show's launch and report that over 100 small-staking punters backed 'any finalist to quit' at 12/1 in August, forcing the price into 4/1.
Helen Jacob,
Sky Bet's entertainment manager, said: "No-one has ever quit X-Factor before, the only time something similar happened was Rik Waller leaving Pop Idol due to laryngitis.
"We were bemused when we saw punters heavily backing the 12/1 in August and so slashed the odds considerably. There are some very shrewd punters out there who will definitely be pleased to see Emily quit the show!"
It also looks like Sharon's hopes of winning have gone - she is now out to 33/1 to be the winning manager.
