Re: Karl-Heinz Rumour Mill

More figments of imagination from lazy Fleet Street hacks in today's rags. I think that sunday papers are the worst for it, the journo's have all week to write their stories and like lazy teenagers, probably put off their essay to the last minute. Then on the tube into work on the Saturday avo, they have to quickly scribble down any old shite and that's why today's rags are chockablock full of rumours and speculation that dont even deserve to see print.

Chelsea are prepared to pay £40m to sign Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o should Didier Drogba leave Stamford Bridge. (Sunday Express)

Meanwhile, Drogba has told Ivory Coast team-mate Yaya Toure he wants to join Barcelona, AC Milan or Real Madrid. (Mail on Sunday)
I think that Didier is off at the end of the season mind. There are just too many rumours for it not to be true. Ever since Jose upped and left, Drogba has been angling for a move. Not sure about Eto'o to replace him though. If he did come, it would smack of an Abramovich transfer, rather than an Avram Grant one.

Newcastle and Manchester United are battling it out for the signature of Tottenham striker Dimitar Berbatov. (Mirror on Sunday)

And the two teams could do an £18m deal that would see midfielder Michael Carrick leave Old Trafford for St James' Park. (Daily Star Sunday)
Berbatov's agent said about a month ago, that he wanted out, in favour of a team who had ambitions that matched his and a chance of winning silverware and getting champions league football. Could someone please tell me just how Newcastle fit that bill?

And fucking hell, if they come in and buy Michael Carrick for anywhere near £18m - they are more deluded than I had ever dared to believe. I would have Sissoko, Albelda or Poulson over him any day. Fuck, you could probably have all 3 for the money they are quoting JUST for Carrick there.

Liverpool's unsettled midfielder Momo Sissoko is wanted by Monaco and Inter Milan. (News of the World)
I do wish Momo would get a move on and move!

The rest of them, I cant really be arsed with.
