Re: The Grammys 2008

Hmmm. Did I really type that? Blimey, I did. I've been busy trying to handicap other award shows to remember about the Grammys this year.

Amy Winehouse and Justin Timberlake look like relatively easy calls for Female and Male Pop Vocal Performance respectively. They only thing is will the Grammys snub Amy Winehouse? If she doesn't turn up they might do so. They're on this Sunday like the BAFTAs.

Bodog has an Amy Winehouse special under their 'Celebrity Specials'!

I think it's an absolute fool's errand trying to predict with any accuracy how many Grammys Amy will win.

A site I usually resort to is this one and they have 'Graduation' winning 'Album of the Year', 'Umbrella' winning 'Record of the Year' and 'Song of the Year' and Amy Winehouse winning 'Best New Artist'.

Kanye West has generally been odds-on to win 'Album of the Year' for quite a while now but I don't think it's worth a punt.

There seems to be some slight buzz that 'Umbrella' will win 'Song of the Year' (7/2 over at Paddy Power but a stonking 6/1 over at Centrebet) and not just 'Record of the Year'.

I don't necessarily agree but it's seemingly worth a shot. There are other predictions thinking Amy Winehouse will win all six awards she's up for but I can't see it happening.

This is the Grammys' 50th anniversary show!

Some actual bets later if I can get my act together.
