Getting a lot of bad press today, stories of riot Police being called in, fights breaking out and such like. 5-Live has been full of people ringing and texting in saying Manchester is like a tip, with cans and bottles all over the place & apparently there was a bit of argy bargy too when one of the big screens broke prior to kick off and 30’000 fans made their displeasure known.fficeffice" />

To be fair though 30 arrests out of an estimated 150’000 people (that’s according to Greater Manchester Police) is absolutely fuck all.

Pisses me off this, Manchester City Council and GMP turn a blind eye to tens of thousands of fans drinking all day in the streets and squares of the city (which is illegal by the way) and then moan when (a) things kick off and (b) there’s loads of rubbish lying around.

What the hell do they expect?

They encourage people to their city for a big piss up on a nice hot day and then are “shocked and appalled” when people are pissing in the streets or discarding their empty tinnies on the floor.

Where do you expect them to piss? Where do you expect them to put their empties? And I’m sorry but 30 arrests is fuck all for such a massive gathering of people.

I wish people would lay off football fans for a change.
