Re: Scotland Divs 1-2-3 - 1st October

Dumbarton looked ok in their win on saturday as im sure Steven will agree

a few players back and a new signing. Unbeaten at home. Just a shame their away this week but i actually think Gretna play better on the road. Still think its a potential bananna skin. Dumbarton getting themselves together. Hard team to break down on their day.

Just reading that about Stranraer there Milners soz i missed t before. He talks some shite Neil Watt from what ive picked up. I really dont rate Stranaer and think any good team about evens is worth a shout against them. I remember Stranraer struggling against Arbroath and teams like that this season and havent heard too much since to convince me that theyve movd on at all. St Johnstone seem a strange mob though and blow hot and cold. I still think they'll win this one though.

Albion Rovers are 6/4 with Betdirect. I ant so sure about them outright now and might stick to the ht coupon with them. I dunno.

This sums up ayr and morton to me in what is traditional a hard fixture for Morton last week

2 wins in 21 games for Morton. Their in the best shape theyve been for years.

Theyll be missing Greacen from the centre of their defence this week mind

over 50 fouls in the game

I have to apologise for comments made on the Bells midweek thread. It was posted up that Hamilton were at home to St Johnstone as per bet365. They werent. I mentioned i fancied St J in light of a few injuries to Hamilton and due to it being at Hamilton (i thought) was at St J Soz

On Tuesday I was slightly disappointed with our first half performance. The newspaper reports on wednesday morning said that we scored against the run of play and that St Johnstone dominated the first half , but I don't agree with that. I think that they were slightly the better team in the first half and they passed the ball better, especially from the back.

This was a poor, poor performance. The gossip flying around in the wake of Brian Fairley's resignation from Forfar and Cairney falling on his sword at Gayfield is that Henry was asked to resign but refused. Whether this is true and whether the board will now decide to dismiss him will make interesting reading in the press in the days to come. Whatever happens, it is a dejected and demoralised side that will travel to face league leaders Berwick next week
Just reading that Harvey and Reilly both missed late fitness tests for their game at East Fife last week. QP aint the same with Trouten in the middle when Harvey aint there and i can see them getting back to winning ways this week with them back onboard. Im always wary about arbroath though but fairly confident. what you reckon?

McKeown faces injury woes
Key players may be out
STENHOUSEMUIR are on the road again this weekend and will be eager to continue their current form by picking up another three points.
Saturday's opposition at Central Park comes in the form of Mixu Paatelainen's Blue Brazil, Cowdenbeath.
They are currently sitting in third place on 12 points – seven behind second top Warriors – and were one of manager Des McKeown's start of season favourites to make the step up to the Second Division.
However, there are doubts over a number of key players.
"I still believe that Cowdenbeath will be there or thereabouts come next year," McKeown told Heraldsport.
"I expect them to be pushing for the championship and now that Mixu Paatelainen has found his feet and is making sure his team play in a particular style, they will be very hard to break down.
"I'm keen on keeping the current sequence of results going however.
"Home or away, our players have to approach the games in the right manner.
"While I am very happy with how we have been playing and the results we have been getting so far this season, I believe there is still more to come.
"Everyone will have to be right up for the game and hopefully that will mean another three points for us."
One major concern is that the club's – and league's – top scorer Paul McGrillen, who scored twice against Montrose last weekend to take his tally to seven, is doubtful. John Paul McBride is also struggling with a knock and McKeown will see how they both respond to treatment this week.
Jim Mercer, who completed the 3-0 scoreline against the Gable Endies with his sixth goal in six games, is struggling with a hamstring injury and is unlikely to feature.
Meanwhile, Colin Cramb, who himself has six goals to his name, is due back from a ban but currently has a dose of flu and will be the subject of a late assessment.
Either way, McKeown will be desperate to keep on the trail of league leaders Berwick, who themselves face Montrose at home this Saturday.
