1pt on Ayr at 2.25 with Bet365.
Bet365 are offering a pretty big price on Ayr IMO. I would say nearer to 2.00, or a shade of odds on would be fairer.
Lets look at Stirling first of all. A 0-0 opening day draw at Partick confused a few of us. However since they they have been poor. 6 losses in a row and while these losses started as tight results the last 3 have seen them concede a total of 10 goals - and hardly to "elite" sides, their opponents being 2nd bottom Dumbarton, Peterhead and losing 5 at Raith. There is not a lot going for Stirling at the moment and I think they are facing one of the divisions better sides tomorrow.
So why are Ayr 2.25 tomorrow? Well if you look at their league record you can see its 2-4-1 this season. Not exactly racking up the wins. The one defeat first of all was a 1-0 loss last weekend in the last 2 mins v Morton. No real disgrace in that IMO.
You should also look at Ayrs last 5 games - Morton, Raith, Partick, Gretna and Peterhead. Basically the 5 sides who make up the top half of the league along with Ayr. And as mentioned, Morton were the only side to beat them out of that lot. The other 4 games all ended up as draws and Ayr scored scored 8 goals in those games, not bad going considering they were harder sides to play.
When Ayr have played sides near the bottom (Forfar, Dumbarton) they have beat them (2-1, 2-0).
So while on the face of it Ayrs record doesn't look great this can be accounted for by the strength of the opposition.
I think they will be onto an easier game tomorrow and be glad they are not facing a stronger side like they have done in the last 4 weeks. As long as there is no complacency in the Ayr side I think they should take case of Stirling tomorrow. And 2.25 definately appeals.
