Vital Penalty Shoot Out Save

Saints went into this Grill League Cup Quarter Final full of confidence and after an initial opening 10 minutes when Saints seemed the more likely to make an opening, the game drifted into mediocrity for the next 20 minutes. Dee took the lead in the 32nd minute when Saints lost posession needlessly up the park and a flowing move down the left allowed Foy to turn Barry Hulse and shoot low past Ewen.

But within 4 minutes Saints equalised when Craig Wilson's left foot 20 yarder came back off the bar for Stuart Cole to beat the Dee centre half to the ball and nod home from close range. And a second goal looked likely for Banchory as they dominated the rest of the half.

With 17 minutes of the second half gone, a Stevie Robertson corner was flicked on by Ryan Smith and Cole was on hand to once again head the ball home at the back post.

It looked like Saints would hold out for a famous win after some pressure towards the end of the game, but Dee sneaked the equaliser in the 3rd minute of injury to put the game into a penalty shoot out.

Robertson, Hulse, Cole and Smith converted their spot kicks easily, with Graham Ewen saving Dee's second, and then the home sides fourth penalty being ballooned over the bar.

Although not playing their best football of the season, Saints still managed to more than hold their own against Super League Banks O'Dee, but a bigger test now lies ahead in the Semi-Final when Culter are the visitors to Milton Park, where a date has still to be confirmed for the match.
Thats from their last match and is a very good result. Not many sides go to Banks Of Dee and get a draw, nevermind a victory.

Especially good how Banchory are a league below them aswell.
