Rotherham boss Mick Harford welcomes back midfielder John Mullin from a one-match suspension but Paul McLaren is still serving his three-match ban.
Harford is still without injured duo Lee Williamson (face) and Scott Minto (Achilles) for the derby match.
Barnsley defender Matt Carbon faces a late fitness after missing the last two games with a groin problem.
Fellow defender Bobby Hassell picked up a similar injury on Saturday and is also unlikely to start at Millmoor.

Wrexham manager Denis Smith says his side must break their away duck by beating Peterborough on Tuesday night.
The Dragons were heading for a first away win of the season on Saturday before two late Bristol Rovers goals.
And Smith said: "It's frustrating because we're throwing games away. We're not playing badly, we're just switching off towards the end of games.
"We have got to start winning and hopefully Tuesday night will be the time."
Victory would send Wrexham into the League Two play-off positions, but Smith says they have already fallen behind the target he has set.
"Even if we win I won't be happy because I wanted a minimum of four points from the two games," Smith told BBC Wales Sport.
"I can't do that now. We've had time to work on a few things - the weather wasn't ideal for doing set plays but hopefully we'll eradicate the things that went wrong against Bristol.
"We are a decent side away from home, but the results don't show that so we've got to start turning those performances into results."

I'm nearly tempted into Wrexham there Swoops. I must resist especially seeing as i was a bit of a Peterborough fan to begin with. Ive a wee thing for Barnsley in the derby too but not really got any reason for it and i aint confident. Think i'll give these all a miss.
