Honda Classic Golf Tournament.

Gonna plump for David Toms @16/1 for the 2nd week running. He's playing extremely well this year(3 top 10 finishes out of 5) and I reckon its only a matter a time before he wins a tournament. He also has a great record here coming 3rd last year and 5th the year before.

Another player playing well without winning so far is Robert Allenby. Hes had 4 top 10 finishes in 5 events and has form here coming 4th in 04 and 14th in 05. Fancy him in the top Australian market too but 7/4 is a bit scabby.

Shall also have a wee nibble at Ian Poulter who I was impressed with at last weeks Matchplay. Thought he played very nicely and his confidence seems to be high at the moment. 40/1 looks ok. Hopefully he can sneak a place.

My outsider this week is gonna be Daniel Chopra @100/1. Last season he played very well at the Pebble Beach tournament, missed the cut at the Nissan and then ad a very good Honda. This year hes had a good Pebble Beach, missed the cut at the Nissan and so its obvious hes gonna have a decent Honda! Isn't it?!

Verdict:
30 Points E/W on David Toms @16/1 (E/W 1/4 1st 6 Places)
12.50 E/W on Robert Allenby @14/1
5 Points E/W on Ian Poulter @40/1
2.50 Points E/w on Daniel Chopra @ 100/1

PS: Boylesports are paying out E/W 1/4 on 1st 6 places. Good Luck to All.

Re: Honda Classic Golf Tournament.

I couldn't agree more on Toms. I am going to get stuck in on him. i don't normally like betting ante-post, but this price looks too long to me. He is a tight, steady player who manages his way around the course, this track has water on 16/18 holes, and from what i've read is wideish fairways in to narrow greens. you want a good iron player, and i think toms fits the bill, plus he is on form. don't read too much in to his loss at wgc matchplay-like i said campbell is an under-rated matchplayer.
word of caution on those honda stats-its not the same course in past years. they've changed it to PGA National, last used 87 USPGA i think, so no course form to go on whatsoever. so you want recent form, and i think toms fits the bill.
your allenby and poulter picks also look v good-i reckon you'll be on a scorcher...

Re: Honda Classic Golf Tournament.

Another tough day for the players with relatively few of the field shooting under par. The fact that Allenby is ahead on -5 tells its own story. Looks like atough old course.

Chopra had a good round of 68 and lies in 5th place on -2. Would be nice if he could stay there but i'm not holding my breath.

Toms had a decent day and lies on level par only 5 off the lead! Didn't think he'd be anywhere near the leaders after yesterdays disaster. needs a big round tomorrow though.

Poulter had a bad day and will barely make the cut on +3. His goose looks to be well and truly cooked.

Only Allenby gets placed which means a loss is made on the tournament. Chopra was 1 shot shy of the place money. Ah well. Tournament still not over, 4 man playoff will continue today. The 3 foot putt Weekly missed on the last to win the title was a shocker. Pure pressure. Nice pick with Stricker Glenbhoy.
