Re: MLB - Major League Baseball 2006
Man well that had me sweating ! I thought oh no the yankees are gonna give up false hope by scoring 4 in the 8th and that'll be that but in typical yankees style they are making it difficult for themselves, only this time the runs ARE scoring and what a difference it has made. Sweet !

Re: MLB - Major League Baseball 2006
Glad everyone got on the over...I was sweating it too. I was at our local bar with my girl and almost pissed my pants with joy when TX got those 3 in the bottom of the 8th. She looked at me and said with a sly grin, "How much did we win?" Gotta love the "we" haha
I hope some of you got on the Padres this morning.
At first glance, I don't really like anything tomorrow. I'll look at things closer in the AM.

Re: MLB - Major League Baseball 2006
Couple for today
Twins
I love the Twins and Liriano over the Tigers and Miner today. Not the best odds, but no one is hotter than the Twins, especially when Liriano is on the mound. Not much needs to be said about Liriano's results. What's cool about the lefty is his outstanding fastball, that's backed by not one, but TWO changeups! He also has an outstanding slider. Not bad for a guy who used to play in the outfielder! He should also get some help from the plate tonight. Minnesota is 22-3 in home night tilts against righties, scoring 6.3 RPG! Zach Miner has been smacked in his last two starts and now faces the hottest team in MLB as a reward. Miner has allowed 10 ER and 17 BR in his last 6 2/3 IP! All about the Twins today.
Nationals
Nothing special here, just backing against the horrible Dodgers.

Re: MLB - Major League Baseball 2006
Tough loss there for the twins.
There owndoing as a few times towards end they had players on third base or scoring position but they couldn't take advantage.
Nevermind, next time spondger

Re: MLB - Major League Baseball 2006
It happens...that's the chance you take when betting on teams on any kind of streak.
Lots of sharps lost big on more than a few games yesterday. I'm gonna look at things a little closer today. Might just stick with MLS (love your DC write-up) and WNBA

Re: MLB - Major League Baseball 2006
My pick today: Yankees on RL (just for interest)
Basically comes down to the Big Unit and the Yankee "O" at home. Not to mention, Seo has been horrible this year. I think RJ will get plenty of run support today.
2nd Pick comes courtesy of US tipster. I posted 1 of his 4* picks last week that should have covered--19 runners LOB. The next day he released another 4* total play and it covered by the 3rd. Yesterday he went 4-0 with his pay picks and his free pick also hit. Today he really goes against the grain with another 4* free pick. Small interest bet for me on this.
Quote:
Free Pick For Today
| Sport: Major League Baseball Picks | | Game: Royals @ Rangers on Jul 29, 2006 8:05PM | | Prediction: Royals (RL) | Reason: 4* KANSAS CITY Run Line over TEXAS
Let’s see if we get this right – the Rangers are under .500 overall, under .500 at home, have the longest losing streak in the Major League’s, and Kevin Millwood sports a 6.24 from this mound in Arlington. Yet we can play the Royals as a “plus plus” here, taking both +1.5 runs and an underdog price. We will do just that.
As tempting as the outright price is, backing a team that is only 14-39 on the road this season to gut out a win is not easy to do. But let’s shed some light on just how competitive the Royals have been after getting off to a slow start – since May 4th they are 14-27 on the road, but with 12 of those losses coming by a single run, it makes their Run Line tally 26-15 in that span. Off of last night’s resounding win, they will certainly bring the right attitude to the table, with every position in the lineup getting at least one hit, and every spot either scoring a run or driving one in.
We are not going to try to color Jorge de la Rosa as being more than he is, but after getting off to a dismal start with the Brewers he was a solid 3-1/2.40 in the Minor’s. He has Major League stuff, it is just a question of having Major League command. In this price range we do not need anything more than a competitive outing, and having a rested bullpen available alleviates having too much of this falling on his shoulders.
As for Millwood, a recent ”Diamonds in the Rough” column dealt with his struggles in this park, and it did not get any better in Monday’s loss to the Yankees, although his ERA was saved a bit by three of the runs scored being unearned. The way the Royals are swinging the bats right now those struggles will continue, and there is not much to fear from the Ranger bullpen either.
It is one thing to add up the edges on the field for a matchup, but when the oddsmakers add a "plus plus" to the list, then those advantages get magnified

Re: MLB - Major League Baseball 2006
Sunday Night Baseball, live on 5 tonight, LAA @ BOS.
Anyone with nice tips or thoughts, greatly appreciated??
If not, quite fancy Boston to do the business, so i'll have a punt on them.
PS - excellent Kansas tip last night sponger/us tipster, had a nice piece!
