Re: Golf : Ryder Cup - September 22-24

Good work guys. Good point about not concentrating on the latter games.

Ive looked at all the singles stuff for a bit there. Come out with 4 which i shall now think about.

Garcia v Cink @ 8/11
Woods v Karlsson @ 4/7

Thankfully both best prices are at Ladbrokes for these 2 so the double can be placed with value at its best. I dont have the total confidence to 'lump on' either but I think massive likelihood of the victory for both. The odds reflect this of course and its questionable value (I find it hard to price odds n stuff personally) but I think im gona take the double at Ladbrokes for 17/10 odds.

Furyk v Casey @ 11/8

Decent price here at betfair. Im mainly buoyed on by the fact Casey is on a big of a high lately and of course comes off that excellent 1 million pound matchplay win. If you think this is a dead even game or Casey should be favourite then this is a price worth taking. Ill think about it.

JJ Henry v Mcginley @ 1/1

Its a shame hes playing a low keyer like McGinley really cos you can be rest assured against quite a few others he would have been priced a lot higher. The odds of Evens say he is reasonable favourite and im no 100% sure hes anymore than that so im not sure its value or not. He has played well so far though.

Interestingly the best odds for Henry are also at Laddies so theres nothing wrong whatsoever with taking a Garcia/Woods/Henry treble as your not skimping on the odds one jot. Pays a tasty 9/2 but obviously many things can go wrong with a treble.

Re: Golf : Ryder Cup - September 22-24

I can see Euros grinding this one out and will have a tickle on 3 5pt doubles and a
5 pt treble:

Monty/Toms Tie 7-1
Garcia/Cink Garcia win 8-11
Clarke/Johnson Tie 6-1

Darren Clarke has halved his last two RC singles (against Davis Love and Duvall) and could again have a battle royal here against Johnson who looks the match play goods.

.
Only bet I'm having today as JJ has played well and McGinley has had a poor year - ok with this being in Ireland might springboard McGinleys form but EVENS is a great price and I'm having some of that.

ps this should cover (and a little more) of my USA bet

No worries Trickrick. Opinionated (and contrary) posts are the spice.

Amongst other bets, i took every match to be halved.

I need at least 2 to be halved at the shortest odds to break even, and any more is a bonus

Re: Golf : Ryder Cup - September 22-24

Way too much enthusiasm for JJ Henry, even though I did highlight him as a potential bet. Thinking about it though - he had 6 good holes Friday, 3 good holes Saturday. He hasn't played the 4somes because his game's not suited to it - way too aggressive. Singles is going to be just the same, and while McGinley is plodding round in pars, Henry is going to hit too many bogeys.

I'm out playing cricket today, so not going to bet on much - as I won't be able to trade out, but the one I am confident about is David Howell over Brett Wetterich. You have to look at when the captain's have played them. Wetterich in the 1st 4balls, where he looked overly erractic, and Howell in the 2 4somes. Clearly Howell is a better player, and better suited to singles matchplay than Wetterich, and should win comfortably.

Buy Howell over Wetterich 2pts @ 7

Re: Golf : Ryder Cup - September 22-24

Fair comment on JJ, Hippy Dave , and JJ is 2Dwn at the moment , but McGinley is not a man who responds well to pressure on the putting green. If Henry gets it back to 1 dwn or levels then my cash will be on the yank....Henry isn't playing so well today but he's still there.

All looks great for Europe!!...brilliant performances from the side with Monty as ever leading from the front.

Woods wins...waiting on JJ for the BIG double , but the LUMPO single is safe...MrM!!....SAFE!...never in doubt.

Casey pays brilliantly to land the odds as well.

Garcia got hammered, but Cink is no big mug ...and helps my Top US scorer bet!..kick on.

It's all BLUE!!!!
