Re: Wimbledon Womens Matches Tuesday

Now I aint no Beanie but I have had some minor succesful bets on this tourney and the only value bet that stands out to me on the above matches is Mary Pierce @ 7/4.
While Venus undoubtedly looked good in her previous match it should be remembered that she was playing an opponent who at the moment is ranked only 85th in the world, and also carrying a stomach injury.
IMO Venus will be unable to get so many unforced errors out of Mary Pierce, whom it has to be said is beginning to look like the Mary Pierce of old after so many niggly injuries over the past couple of years.
If Pierce can play the way she has been playing throughout the current Wimbledon campaign then I feel that she can certainly go on to beat Venus and also be in with a good shout of the overall title.

50pts on Pierce from me today

ps... you still aint paid out on my tennis bets for yesterday
or for one of the argentinian league games on 26/5....obviously an oversight from a very efficient bookmaking team

Re: Wimbledon Womens Matches Tuesday

I agree MikeRobb, Williams is the only odds on player worth opposing. If anything Pierce had the harder game in the last round against in form Pennetta, but both Williams and Pierce played very well vs opponents who were playing well, but neither Pennetta nor Craybas serve over 100MPH too often, and they will always struggle to compete vs the top players if that happens.

Craybas couldn't get her nose infront against Venus, which is always key, but Pierce is far more solid on serve, and if she can put pressure on Venus, this game looks more and more towards the 50-50 mark.

-------------------------------

I'll look to get back on track with:

Sharapova v Petrova

After struggling past Peschke, Petrova is making too many errors to beat Sharapova. Was match point down to Peschke, and overall gave away ten break chances, which Sharapova will be much more clinical with. Sharapova looks as good on grass as she did when she won the title last year, and didn't concede a single break point against Dechy, and with the serve looking solid and groundstrokes accurate, it should be the Russian safely through to the final four.

Mauresmo -3.5 games v Myskina

Nakamura, Bohmova, Jankovic and Dementieva have all had the Myskina serve in trouble time and time again, while Mauresmo has been ruthless so far, losing 0 sets and just 15 games. She is also serving brilliantly, and Myskina will have to work for even just one or two chances. In her 4 matches so far, Mauresmo has given away just 6 break points, compared to the 53 of Myskina. I think Myskina will struggle on both the Mauresmo seve and her own, so I'll back the French woman to beat the handicap here.

2pts double @ 1.92 @ Ladbrokes

-------------------------------

Wimbledon Record so far: 45 pts staked / 45.62pts returned

Re: Wimbledon Womens Matches Tuesday

Thats the wimbledon settled from other day. Argentina hasnt been settled yet as their is a guy tonight we are still waiting for the result from.

Think im going to get myself some of that on Mary Pierce then. Its either that or 2-1 Williams set betting.

Re: Wimbledon Womens Matches Tuesday

Yeah, looks hungry for the title too.

Mauresmo v Davenport and Sharapova v Williams :yikes Two mouthwatering semis in prospect...

Is the Corals slow updating a frequent thing Kiko? I'm sure I've got an account gathering dust there, and if they're giving money away I wanna peice of the action

Re: Wimbledon Womens Matches Tuesday

They seem to be great with football and cricket. Its just the tennis ive noticed this with. For example for the first break of serve in the first set it was something like 15/40 Williams and she was 1/2 at Corals still while Stan James had her down to 1/4. Then once she had won the set it took them a good half a minute to change the odds.

They dont seem to change the odds during the game points - seems to be after each game. Definately some money to be made.

I fancy a Davenport/Williams final. Sharapova looked a bit tired today and wasnt the champion we have seen. Although if she gets to play her baseline game she is going to be hard to break down.

Davenport has impressed me the last 2 games and im kicking myself for not getting on her when i seen the 10s and higher kicking around. Her serve has been her main weapon and her percentages speak for themselves.

Re: Wimbledon Womens Matches Tuesday

I'll have a spy at their live betting on the mens tomorrow then.

I had a couple of my pre-tournament bets going, with Davenport at 15s and Mauresmo at 19s, but layed off the Davenport one before her match with Clijsters instead of letting it ride.

Davenport, Mauresmo and Williams all looked really good today, and I agree that Sharapova wasn't the best v Petrova, who could easily have taken a set if she'd come into the net a lot more which was working for her. Trying to beat Sharapova from the baseline is suicide.

Williams performance was good, but I'm taking it with a little caution at the moment. I don't think many would disagree that Pierce was well below par in the first set, and she could have quite easily taken the second after having a few set points.

Davenport/Mauresmo is another thats tricky to read. Davenport is showing great power and accuracy just now, and Mauresmo showed some really clever net play today, and that will surely have to be part of her gameplan in the semi if she is to pressure the American.

Davenport v Williams final could well be a great shout, but then again the way I'm looking at it right now is that no one combination stands out for me.
