Re: English Premiership 13th May

With any of Sheff Utd, West Ham or Wigan liable to go down, the obvous focal point is the Sheff Utd v Wigan game. A point would be good enough to keep West Ham up and they're only away at Man United so we can rule them out of the equation .

It's quite simple for Wigan, if they beat Sheff United, they reverse goal difference with them and stay up. Job done and if they were playing at wigan it might be worth a bet. However, I doubt they can win this one away and my cash will be on the home team. Looking tight for most of the game but I can see Sheff United scoring in the last ten to relieve the pressure as wigan fail to break them down.

Re: English Premiership 13th May

I'm looking forward to that game ODM and i hope its on the box, Wigan look a broken team allready and Warnock seems made for these occasions.
even if they were playing at the JJB i'd fancy the Blades to pull it out of the bag on current form, but saying that Sheffiled Utd were dire against Villa on Saturday.

Re: English Premiership 13th May

Right lets have a look as i've not had time to shite yet this week.
I'll start with my fancied lays then have a look at the other matches.

Lay Blackburn , Nothing left to play for after last nights result against Spurs while Reading have been sneaking up on the outside for a while now and are more than capable of getting Euro spot if Bolton slip up.

Lay Chelsea, The season has started to catch up with them and they are becoming draw kings of late plus its now time to rest a few players for the FA cup next week.

Lay Man U, obvious really as Man U like Chelsea will now be planning for the FA cup and this is West Hams biggest game of the season where a point will gurantee safety and they will be fighting tooth and nail to get it.

Re: English Premiership 13th May

As for the others Spurs look nailed on while they still strive for a point that will guarantee a Euro spot.
Man City have now lost Michael Ball aswell as Barton , two main first teamers who they have inadequate replacements for. added to the fact City are incapable of scoring at the moment leads to a straight victory for Tottenham who have more than enough fire power to grab at least a couple without reply.

Big game of the day has to be Sheffileld United v Wigan and i can't see Wigan touching the Blades on current form.
Wigan have had ample chnaces lately to try and get out of the mire but have failed miserably with their confidence at his lowest since being promoted to the Prem 2 yrs ago, If they could not produce when it mattered against lesser teams with nothing to play for then they have no chance in this game as Warnock has been here before and knows the score.

In fact I've never seen Warnock so laid back as i have this yr and his Mr Cool persona seems to be paying dividends and getting through to the players who are doing a job for him when it matters unlike Jewell whose team seem to be at panic stations.

Re: English Premiership 13th May

Agree with you there Slick on Wigan, they had their chances against the less spirited teams to get out of this dogfight. Against SU they meet a team who for themselves are fighting survival. The blades only need a point to ensure being in topflight whereas Wigan has to go for all three. SU have a strong home record while Wigan have only got 2 points out of a possible 18 in their last 6 matches. The reverse fixture was won by SU away 1-0. So much so I would like to see Wigan remain they seems set for Championship.

Re: English Premiership 13th May

Not sure whether this will be of interest to anyone, but I find this stats quite interesting (especially the red marked ones) Maybe a fun bet of Wigan to score first and Sheffield to win will be interesting naaaah I dont know whether it works in this sort of crucial games.

Sheffield United
Conceded five goals in the first five minutes of top flight matches - more than anyone else. But shipped just one in the last five minutes, and every other club have let in more than that with the exception of Chelsea, who've also leaked just one.

Wigan Athletic
Effectively dropped 26 points from winning positions in Premiership matches this season - more than any other club. Lost six (home to Manchester United and Bolton, and away to Blackburn, Tottenham, Reading and Arsenal), and drawn home to Watford and Tottenham and away to Middlesbrough and Tottenham, having led in all 10 matches.
One of two clubs who have not managed to win a Premiership game this season from a losing position. The other is Manchester City.
Scored more goals than any other club in the first five minutes of Premiership matches (six) and conceded six in stoppage time - as have Charlton.

Re: English Premiership 13th May

Everton to win at Chelsea is a really really bad bet @ 9/2. Chelsea to win @ 5/6 on betfair isnt a bad bet at all, id price em at 4/6 tops I reckon.

Re: English Premiership 13th May

With liverpool I would want to know their starting line up first. Liverpool -1 on the h/cap could be ok, though Fowler to score anytime 15/8 looks a stonking bet as he will start his final game for the club.

Arsenal are too big at 2.36 on betfair, so I will be laying them. Silva is rested and adebayor is doubtful.

Chelsea depends on their starting line up. I would fancy sheff utd, though would lay them back if they take the lead on betfair. Good chance they would take their foot of the pedal, if man u are beating west ham by a couple of goals.

Re: English Premiership 13th May

the fowler bet is at bet365.

alternatively on sheff utd v wigan game.
sheff utd ht/wigan full time is around 38 on betfair and sheffutd ht/draw full time is 18.5 for the conspiracy when sheff utd stop trying in the closing stages.
