Re: Non League Midweek Thread: 17th/20th April

Just the Hereford for me today, a short price but still value imo.

Hereford have recently had players coming back and they should be giving their best to get into the team for the play-offs. They now have plenty of options throughout, especially upfront. I know it’s fair to say Tamworth need the points more but Hereford wont be doing them any favours, we need to start playing the football we are capable of and there have been a few signs of that recently, I’m expecting a comfortable win today.

Last match reports….

Altrincham 0-1 Hereford Stuart Fleetwood's 64th-minute strike ended Altrincham's challenge at Moss Lane and virtually assured Hereford of a spot in the Conference play-offs.
Hereford dominated from the outset and Robert Purdie and Andy Ferrell both came close to an opener early on.
Home keeper Stuart Coburn then denied Daniel Carey-Bertram from range, before the striker set up Fleetwood, who fired his fifth of the season with aplomb.
Altrincham's best chance came through Colin Little, but his effort went wide.

Tamworth boss Mark Cooper was left to rue "a shocking performance" as his relegation-threatened side were beaten 3-0 at home by Morecambe.
"The game was effectively over after 12 minutes," Cooper reflected after his side went 2-0 down early on.
"Our experienced lads let us down, but collectively we were not good enough.
"I think we still need one win to be safe, but I want us to do it properly and not rely on other sides' results or fortunes," he added.

6.5pts @ 8/13

Good luck all

Re: Non League Midweek Thread: 17th/20th April

I had to move heaven and earth but I got signed up with Moneybookers and have now just had a maximum bet for me (20 pts) at interwetten on AFC Telford.

Looks like AFC have got a few problems in defense:

"It will depend on how many of the three centre-halves are fit enough to play. I'm sure Pash will come in form Palms, so we've just got to hope that at least two of Turner, Pope and Khela declare themselves fit as we've got no real cover there."

I'm also on Fisher Muze and got a few others - Bedford, Sailsbury, Gloucester off the top of my head.

ODM I'm gonna lay 100 quid on that 9/2 about ST A's as I need a return to cover that fecking crawley bet.

Like the look of Grays at 5/4 as mentioned and looking at taking advantage of that betfred offer and laying the stake for a free bet.

More later.

Ahh so that would be why the Runcorn game has been taken off the list before I had a chance to have a slice then

Ill refresh the Interwetten site but dont think ill get any joy. Good luck to anyone on it, at against odds its a very good bet.

Re: Non League Midweek Thread: 17th/20th April

Just an idea AMP but wouldnt it be a better idea to just lay Weymouth today?

The back price is currently 1.93 on betfair.

I'm thinking you lay £100 at evens

Weymouth win, you lose £100 but the title is in the bag
Weymouth lose, the title is up to play for but you pocket £100
Weymouth draw, they are still fav for the title AND you pocket £100 on the day

Whadayareckon?

Re: Non League Midweek Thread: 17th/20th April

Hello!!
You make a great job here! I am very greatfull for that.
I have a question,
What do you think about Stevenage win over Crawley? Crawley make big sucsses they escape from the bottom and they are without defeat for a long time. In saturday they win 2:0 over Aldershot and they are far away from relegation zone. I think they could relax and Stevenage would use that to make victory. Crawley beat them in FA Trophy and they should try to payback for that defeat. I belive Stevenage have big reason to beat them. Both team in good shape. Crawley is ready to lose! THX

welcome solskjaer to TDP ... thanks for the compliment but you do a great football job too

back to non league.

What about Farsley today? They play away versus Witton.Witton is only the 13th best home team, farsley is 5th away ...

odds: 2.70 at betandwin ... for Farsley Celtic .. sounds good to me!

Any other opinions?

Aldershot will be boosted by the return of Steve Watson to their midfield after he completed a two-game suspension. Goalkeeper Nikki Bull is expected to continue between the posts despite a thigh injury, and Gary Holloway, Darren Barnard and Johnny Dixon could feature.

Meanwhile, Jamie Slabber and Glenn Poole are both doubtful for Grays.

Slabber missed the draw with Forest Green through illness and Poole limped out of the match and faces a late fitness test.

Re: Non League Midweek Thread: 17th/20th April

ODM,

A ponderous point you made and one I considered last night.

If St Albans win (and stranger things have happened at Sea) I'd anticipate that they would then be favourites for the title.

They'd be a point ahead with superior goal difference and would be priced around 4/5 IMHO. To then work out backing and laying of the four fixtures both are involved in would be a pain in the posteria.

I stand to win $980 (and for new readers I tipped them ante-post on this forum - we don't like after-eveting, o.k) off of a $280 stake.

So the profit is 700 pound. If I lay 100 of that off now I'll make 600 profit or 170 profit if St Albans win the title.

I'd also have to reiterate that I don't think 9/2 is a realistic price. 8/2 would be more in line with my expectations.

I'm going to wait another hour until I place the bet so would welcome any opinions.

Re: Non League Midweek Thread: 17th/20th April

It's a difficult one. In this kind of position I would ALWAYS go for the lay of today's game because one of the three results puts you in with a decent profit on the day AND the existing bet still in tact.

That's always the principle that I go with. The rest is just down to calculating what the stake size would be.

Of course, it can all go horribly tits up and that's probably why I still go to work every week

Good luck whatever you decide mate.

Re: Non League Midweek Thread: 17th/20th April

Cheers guys.

I'm gonna make that 100 bet and take the gauranteed profit. I'd probably be more cavalier if it wasn't for the fact I'm down big time on Crawley.

Come on AFC Telford!!!!!!

GL All, I've just finished my dinner so I'll have a wee cheeky double on Kop's Hereford and Staylbrige and post up my picks.

Not liking this latest post on the AFC Telford Forum...

"Rob Smith has admitted he may use today to give some of the squad players and fringe players a game"

Hopefully it shldnt make too much difference, Runcorn have probly got the kit man in goal and his granny upfront.

Im not on (the odds never returned on Interwetten) but best of luck with that, I price Telford 4/6.

Im just on the mighty Fisher

Boys - we've got some kind of radio coverage:

With James Bond. Including coverage of AFC Telford v Runcorn FC Halton.
