This division is dead as a dodo for promotion, play-off places and relegation is it not? I suppose team news will be interesting.

I think Royals need 4 more points to break Sunderlands record.

I'll propably be taking a little bet on Cardiff at 2,15 agst Norwich who's been crap away for a long time now.

Millwall v Burnley.

Early days but it is going to take some surprising news to stop me from having a medium sized punt on Burnley @ 2/1 with Skybet.

How the mighty have fallen. FA Cup Final, European jaunt and close to the play offs. What do they do? Sack the manager.

Millwall are now relegated. In fact the current caretaker boss gave up the ghost publicly before it was mathematically confirmed. He's on his way and he is not the sort of character to rouse the troops to go out with a bang either.

Add to that two ever present experienced players (Dunne & Livermore) will be going under the knife so will not play on Saturday.

Burnley are an unbeaten run of about six. They have tightened up defensively and on loan striker Andy Gray has popped up with a few goals. The improvement in form has also co-incided with the signing of Mahon from Wigan and Bardsley from United both on loan as well.

Re: CC Championship: 22nd April

aye , good call their WAS , I've lost backing against Millwall before so I'm a bit averse to looking at them at the mo

I'm falling in love with that Southampton price mind , all the palace fans are looking toward the play offs, the team preparation wont even consider Soton IMO. He had Johnson on the bench at home to Burnley in the 0-0 stalemate , I think he's so important to them that he may not figure from the start here.
Southampton will be going all out for the win and have the momentum that see's teams go on daft runs at the end of the season.
If I hear that AJ is benched for this then I'm lumping on , small stakes if not mind

Soton 7/2 (sportingodds) (5/10)
I'd love to hear any counter opinions on this game mind

Just bear in mind that teams finishing 3rd and 4th have an advantage in the play-offs by playing the 2nd leg at home.

Re: CC Championship: 22nd April

yip fair point but realistically there's very little advantage if any as all the teams are well matched ,Palace will finish 6th I think as they are 4 points off 4th place

Re: CC Championship: 22nd April

I dont like this from teamtalk mind

Quote:

And with Saints now safe from relegation and head coach George Burley looking to blood his youngsters as he prepares for next season, Chaplow, who will return to The Hawthorns at the end of his loan spell, could well sit out the final two fixtures

teamnews will be key as ever , I'd love to look at last season's playoff tems form , anyone know anywhere I could browse last years results?

Re: CC Championship: 22nd April

I'm looking at Stoke v Cov now , Stoke have all but given up I rekon , all thoughts are on the summer for them , 2 defeats albeit against good teams BUT it's the last home game and all that that means , they'll be all out to win this for certain . Coventry have John and McSheffrey in sparkling form , they'll be fired up looking for goals for sure . Stoke have been playing the kids and Coventry's dads army may have too much for them.

anyone agree?

Re: CC Championship: 22nd April

Sheff W v Reading

I have been quite impressed with Wednesday by their standards of late but they can now relax with their future secure in this division. Some players who have been carrying injuries can look forward to surgery before the season ends.

Whilst not exactly playing untested players, Sturrock has indicated that he has in mind giving 3 players a run out who have hardly played this season. Their match fitness must be in doubt.

I think Reading would like that record and they have every chance here against inferior opposition who might be carrying a passenger or two.

6/5 with Totesport is worth a few quid

Re: CC Championship: 22nd April

Just thinking of backing against all the play off contenders here.

Palace v Soton 7/2
Hull v Preston 6/4
QPR
v Watford 6/4
Leeds v Crewe 4/1

140/1 accy there.

I cant see teams going full pelt at all in these games , the niggle is the momentum factor. Palace aint got any so
I'm after them , Watford aint got much and Boothroyd wont risk his star strikeforce I'm pretty sure , it's a long old season. Preston have injuries , I think Omerod got knocked out last week. Leeds cant score and have the biggest squad and you have to have doubts about Crewe's attitude here. I noticed last day of last season Rotheram forced a draw at Elland rd.
Teamnews teamnews teamnews...I need some
