Re: Scottish Challenge Cup: 14/15th Aug

scottish, midweek and it being cup makes me want to not get involved but when i see the fixtures i have to get involved even though my life is so messed up that gambling has no meaning anymore. Anyhow lets have a look.

East Stirling at home to Dumbarton again. I suppose team news is all important in this lower league cup. East Fife you could like at Forfar due to Forfar's inability to score goals. I aint convinced though and i'll probably leave it. Actuallly looking at all the prices nothing stands out to me so i miht just leave it all. Bollocks just like life its all shite. s, h, i, t, e = shite

Re: Scottish Challenge Cup: 14/15th Aug

Hi!
How do I get my fancied treble on the site for the Scots games tonight?
Can you help me please?
Thanks in advance,
Sheepshagger
Btw,
I believe that Dundee, Hamilton and Queen's Park are worth a treble bet -
166 returns for 40 staked on Paddy Power.

I fancy Stirling Albion and Dumbarton though I don't know what kind of squads they will bring in the field. My short reasoning is that Montrose is not really special and East Stirling can't have 2 consecutive games without losing

I won't get to bet on these though, I'm more confident of my BlueSQ conference matches that have better odds too

Looking at the history of this round of the cup there are normally quite a few Overs ..but checking the beeb weather forecast it could be raining all over tonight so it's putting me off slightly.

I don't think the rain means anything, unless it's windy too. I also checked the last couple years of round one, and actually found that overs weren't that great overall. 9 of 14 overs last year, 6 of 14 the year before. There were quite a few games that were 1-1 at the end of regulation and finished 2-1, 3-1 and 3-2 after ET.

Overs still interest me here because you can get better odds than for lower-league matches. I like the looks of Albion-Berwick at evens, Peterhead-Cowdenbeath and Morton-Livi. But I won't do anything unless I know something about lineups.

Re: Scottish Challenge Cup: 14/15th Aug

went for a £50 treble on Airdrie, Brechin and Dumbarton.

Airdrie playing on a synthetic pitch for the 2nd game running and will look to get the ball into wide areas and punish a team a division lower. Brechin should kill Elgin, Martin Johnstone on his return to hopefully haunt his former club. I just don't see Dumbarton slipping up twice on the same ground!

Also went for £20 on Albion Rovers just for interest sake's, had a good start to the season and been told Berwick are resting a few 1st team players ahead of Saturday's match at home to Airdrie.

Arbroath v Alloa Athletic
Arbroath manager John McGlashan is likely to shuffle his pack against Alloa Athletic in the first-round of the Scottish Challenge Cup.

The Red Lichties are at full strength following the 3-2 defeat by East Fife, but McGlashan wants to give some of his big squad a chance to claim a place.

Alloa midfielder Scott Agnew is a doubt for ahead of trip north.

David McClune, Sandy Hodge, Andy Ferguson, John Grant, Fraser Forrest and Ross Clark are all carrying knocks
nothing there to excite. sod it saturday thread here we come

Arbroath manager John McGlashan could opt to shuffle his pack against Alloa in the first-round of the Scottish Challenge Cup.

The Lichties are at full strength following Saturday's 3-2 home defeat to East Fife which continued their disappointing start to the league campaign.

However, McGlashan's side did win in the first round of the CIS Cup last week and they will be hoping to continue their good cup form against the Wasps.

``We have a big, talented squad of 22 players and the game will allow me to bring in some who have not featured so far this season and give them a chance to impress,'' said McGlashan.

Scott Agnew is a doubt for Alloa. The midfielder's absence would be a blow to the Wasps and manager Allan Maitland admits it will be tough for his side to bounce back from Saturday's 6-0 league hammering against Airdrie.

``Any team that gets beaten 6-0, and by the way we were lucky it was only six, it is hard to take. But having seen so many of our players playing so well, it was incredible to see them play so poorly,'' said Maitland.

``We have another game on Wednesday at Gayfield which we must look forward to. It is a must that we get the defeat out of our system.''
