Re: Scottish League: 1/2nd Sept

Cracking stuff Parksy and lets hope you get a wee bit extra euros in your pocket to spend on sangria. Ill go and read up and then get started. Let me check my finaces first as i took ALL my money out to the pub yesterday (it was my rent) ...he heh heh ive got some left. I stay right out of town these days and no bookie is close and thats been affecting me as most will know that i dont go over the door much but thanks to the post office letting me pay money into the bank and then the bank to bookies accounts im well sorted (shit i need food too) Ok so before i go on let me see what i have on my drunken ladbrokes coupon.

Dundee
Dunfermile/st j - draw
QOS
Partick
Ayr
Brechin
Peterhead
Raith
arbroath ht/ft

Right i'll go read up this thread and start getting his together. Feel like an ojk week. First week ive had a wee bit of confidence about things. Bah i shouldnt say that.

Re: Scottish League: 1/2nd Sept

Just read this Parksy which ha stopped me in my tracks a bit

Quote:
Morton sign Russell and Gardyne
Iain Russell
Iain Russell has been in scoring form for Brechin
First Division Morton have signed striker Iain Russell from Brechin City for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old, who was last season's the Second Division player of the year, has signed a three-year contract.

The Cappielow side have also signed Michael Gardyne on a permanent deal from Celtic.

The midfielder, who was coached by Morton manager Jim McInally for Celtic's youth teams, spent time on loan at Ross County last term.

Russell has scored six goals in four games this season for Brechin for a total of 35 goals from 34 appearances for the Glebe Park club.

The striker, who began his career with Rangers before moving to Motherwell, joined Brechin from Dumbarton in August 2006.
Blast and bollocks. that could really put the hankers on both my Brechin and QOS bets. I was relying on Russells goals for Brechin today not his goals for Morton What the hell does wee Bobby Linn have to do to get a game at Morton? I'll go read more but that ant a good start for me. Gardyne is a striker too, no he aint he's midfield i note. Scores a few goals mind. Well potentiall.

This could affect the strength of my ht/ft on Arbroath too
Quote:

Inverness duo farmed out to Elgin
Elgin City have signed goalkeeper Ally Ridgers and midfielder Zander Sutherland on loan from Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Ridgers will be with the Third Division outfit for a season following Caley Thistle's signing of Zibi Malkowski from Hibernian.

The 19-year-old Sutherland will stay at Borough Briggs until January.

Both are expected to make their debut for Elgin in Saturday's league match against Arbroath.

Sutherland has made two starting appearances and four as a substitute for Inverness.

And Caley Thistle boss Craig Brewster told his club website: "We have a host of midfield players, especially in the wider areas.

"I just feel that playing first-team football will give Zander more experience and toughen him along with the added bonus of playing regularly."
Right lets get some good news. I suppose bad news is good news really. Will i have anything left to back this week?

No other team news of note. I still like Brechin but i am worried about the lack of Russell's goals. Need to see how Cowdenbeath are looking after 2 hard fought games with players apparently playing with ill ness etc. As mentioned on the bbc brechin won all 4 games between the two last season and i see Brechin as as being a better team thius season and Cowdenbeath a worse team.

Brechin City Cowdenbeath 5:7 Sat 18-01-2003

I was in a pub with a mate in Ladbroke Grove in London to score some hash that day. i remember that score coming up on a massive tv screen whilst i held the pool table in a mental pub with loads of yardie types. My mate ended up getting his cock sucked for £25 later on that night but you didnt need to know that

Brechin Even Money with Expekt and Betfred. aactually i might use my money on a new bookie and get a deposit bonus. Might be an idea. I'll wait and see how the odds pan out

Re: Scottish League: 1/2nd Sept

Just to remind folks of the link under the banner in this forum SCOTS
http://www.thedailypunt.com/wrapper/...ril-Forum.html

I need to finish it but its handy for times like this

Ah thats it the transfer window closed yesterday. Thats good. Maybe get a bit of settlement going down.

Why do i not fancy East Fife to win this weekend? I really dont know. Let me think. Actually there was that Challenge Cup game. Let me go read more on that.....Team news here
BBC SPORT | Football | Scottish Cups | Forfar Athletic 3-2 East Fife

p&b thread
The Pie Shop > Forfar V East Fife

East Fife with 5 changes that night from the previous league game. 5 changes is half a team. Still thats 5 players playing for a chance of playing again. Still if they aint good enough then they wont be playing so i cant judge East Fife on that. Lets have a quick look at the teams that night for oursleves to see who was playing-

Forfar: Reid, McNally, Smith (Lumsden 81), Allison, Ovenstone, Lunan, Stuart (Grady 64), John Fraser (Kilgannon 59), Lombardi, Fotheringham, Tulloch. Subs Not Used: Beith, Wood.

East Fife: McCulloch, McDonald, Linton, Smart, Tweed, Fotheringham, Gordon, Blackadder, McManus (Nicholas 80), O'Reilly (Stewart 88), Walker (Cameron 88). Subs Not Used: Fortune, Mathers.

and for both last Saturday-

Forfar Athletic: Wood, McNally, Smith, Allison, Ovenstone, Fotheringham, Lunan, Kilgannon, Duell (Lombardi 72), Stuart (Grady 80), Tulloch (Beith 50). Subs Not Used: Lumsden, Reid

East Fife: Fox, McDonald, Smart, Tweed, Fotheringham, Blackadder, Greenhill, Stewart, Cameron, O'Reilly (Nicholas 71), McManus (Gordon 83). Subs Not Used: Walker, Linton, McCulloch.

Ill have a look at them when i post this. Actually Forfar have some ok players brought in. i like Kerrigan they got from montrose. I think Forfar can go anywhere and spring a suprise. I remember the season before last when i advised and took forfar at 16/1 to beat Gretna that week and they did. Beanie was on them at 50/1

Actually why am i looking at this game as i aint gonna be on Forfar and i aint gonna be on East Fife. Good luck East Fife backers. I could well be wrong but i think your in for a hard time today. Sorry just my opinion.

Re: Scottish League: 1/2nd Sept

Zander at Elgin seems quite well rated by this ICT fan
Quote:
Caley Thistle right winger Zander Sutherland has moved on loan to Elgin City until January, according to posters on the Caley website. Zander is 20 next week and has shown up well in his run-outs for the first team - he made his first start in our final game of last season against St Mirren and was about our best player that day. He was also given a run-out in the Scotland U-20 squad at the end of last season. I'd hope to see him back in January as he looks one for the future - he is tricky and can beat a player.
Zander Sutherland To Elgin City - The Pie Shop

Gonna have a look at soccernet previews

Div three
ESPNsoccernet - Europe - Arbroath v Elgin Preview

Hunter will be missed by Albion Rovers. I reckon he'll play mind. East Stirling at 7/4 Betfred and coral could yet get my money
Quote:
i think the best outside bet tomorrow are montrose.i seen 5-2 somewhere earlier.thats a massive price against a stenny team minus their 2 main strickers ferguson and demster.and dont forget stenny got destroyed by east stirling last saturday.i think montrose can go there tomorrow and sneak a win.if i was a bookie i would go both teams 6-4.whoever gets a wee bit of luck wins the game.it could either way.but at 5-2 on montrose i def think its worth a punt.
I totally agree Parksy. i aint confident but as you say the price alone is worth backing. Let me see who its with...nah 9/4 on the away is the best i can see. Still sounds a fair price.

I cant see anything in Stranraer v Dumbarton that appeals

Re: Scottish League: 1/2nd Sept

Soz Tom (George) i was sitting looking at div three there and playing poker at the same time (bet365 90cent stt ) Ive a wee thing for Partick today myself but i aint looked. Good to see Roberts back and if he's still scoring like last season then he has to be worth a goal or two. Him and di gacamo never played together at Kllie did they? years apart possibly. I forgot di gacamo was at Partick now. How did he play on saturday? Lets go and have a look....

Seemed to get involved midweek. Not much to say treally
Match Reports | Pressbox | Partick Thistle Football Club

I actually fancied Partick before and then there's the bonus of Roberts being back and Di Giacomo having a bit of match practise. Archibald should be out presume after his 2 yellows at Dundee. Im pretty sure that Archibald is the key to Thistle's defence and with a player like Offilong in the aposing team that doesnt fill me with confidence. Hamilton are top as theyve won all their games and Reid's got a good team together. I feel that Thistle are gonna sneak it in a hard fought game as they were last season. Partick dont look so vurnerable at home as they have been and i cant see the boo boys being out this early in the season and with Thistles good start. No bet for me George and snowman but good luck chaps.

I think im gonna really like Dundee once i look.

Re: Scottish League: 1/2nd Sept

Why bookies are going 11/4 on QOS i will never know. I need to look at this one as to me thats madness. Im still thinking that it should be Morton that's 11/4 Well maybe not. 6/4 the pair. Nah QOS slight favs imo.

Quote:
For the first time this season I'll have the luxury of practically a full squad to choose from and I'll take that any day.

i hear yah Chisholm.

Lets see how they played at hamilton last time away from home
Hamilton Accies FC - Accies 1 Queen of the South 0

Quote:
The difficult start continues then and only one point has been gained from the first three games with the squad short handed. Those injuries and suspensions are mostly clear now and we need to start picking up some points with the home game against Livingston, also struggling so far, next weekend.
Official Queen of the South Site

Jim Thomson and Jim Lauchlan coming back to shore up the defence last week seemed to help them. Aye im for QOS and im even gonna be greedy and have them ht/ft too. 7/1 they are with Ladbrokes and thats just mental imo

Re: Scottish League: 1/2nd Sept

t a quick shortlist for me to mull over whilst i take my first trip of 2 this morning to Spar.

Dundee 11/10 Betfred
Queen of the South 11/4 Ladbrokes

Actually ill stop that for now. I was wanting the 4/5 on Ayr but i wont chance any less and i wont get the 4/5. I do like the sound of the over 2.5 goals and i think there could be a bit of arbitration here.

Over 2.5 8/11 betfred
Under 2.5 6/4 extrabet

£11 on the overs pays £19
£8 on the unders pays £20

Bollocks thats £19 paid. I suppose it gives you a 5% return if its under. Risk free. I'll go double check the prices for those that might take advanage of the free money.

Re: Scottish League: 1/2nd Sept

Aye prices are fine. Just a shame Extrabet are closed at the mo. Betfred giive you a free £25 when you sign up too so if you put that on the overs then i'm sure that would ensure a nice profit.

oh here's 2nd division previews
ESPNsoccernet - Europe - Ross County v Airdrie Utd Preview

Peterhead i like
Brechin i still like but im worried
Raith i could yet go for.

When you look at Clyde's team today as proposed by someone on p&b im suprised to see a few names still there

----------------Hutton
--McGowan--Kirkup--McGregor--Higgins
--Curdle--Masterton--MacLennen--Imrie
-------McKenna---Arbuckle

Well Imrie, Arbuckle and Masterton. I dont think Clyde are gonna be push overs. i better go and read how theyve been performing. I know they were under the cosh a bit when they beat St Johnstone and thats all im basing it on. Did i read that Dundee will be missing Daal? I aint so sure about him. Where's SG (?) Sorry i forget the Dundee an we had posting last season. You about namless one?

I never went to Spar. No point in going twice i reasoned. aint had a cig in 2 hours. Smoking doubts. I cant smoke them anymore. I must be posh these days. im all anxious. Be great to get some smoking happening with my coupon.

Just reading his on cyde's new loan signings. Be interesting to see hwo they perform. I can see Clyde getting a draw today and i might jump ship on them poss

Foyle, Port Vale's Manager, said:-

"Joe Cardle will be with Clyde up until Christmas. He needs first team games, he has been very frustrated here and he has not been able to produce as quickly as we thought he would, so

we wanted to give him three or four months football somewhere.

"We faxed around to see if anybody was interested in him and Colin Hendry, who is a good friend of mine, will look after him and then give us the feedback we need.

"Joe has got to grow up, there's no question about it, both on and off the pitch, and I think he will be a better player and a better person for it."

Carlisle supremo Abbott said:-

"We want as many players as we can to get as much football as possible, and I suggested to Dan Kirkup that he accepted this loan move, as it will get him some first team football. His response was fantastic, because he knows that if he can cope with first team football with Clyde then it will benefit him more than Reserve football.

"It's the type of move that is right for everybody, and Dan is looking to grasp the opportunity with both hands. Hopefully he will come back a better player for it, and will then be really pushing to get in to my first team."

Re: Scottish League: 1/2nd Sept

Bolloks ive put my last bucks in Sportingodds account as i fancied some DNB and some -1 handicap action. theyve only got 1,2,x and under over goals

Right Ayr/Alloa over 2.5 at 1.75. i'll try that. Alloa's defence are prone to gifting teams goals and with moore and Williams getting in about them and Brown doing the same to Henderson and co in the Ayr defence i can well see it coming in. Actually as mentioned this used to be a bet for me between these two and im glad i gave it up jsut ater this fixture went under 2.5 for 4 games. Alloa's games so far this season have finished over 2.5 in the league and Ayr's last 3 have. Aye i'll chance it. i aint 100% confident though truth be told

Peterhead at 2.10 i'll take. Im hoping Cowdenbeath's season has caught up with them already with injuries etc athough they did have a few back v gretna midweek. Bollocks i aint convinced about this one either now The ove 2.5 at 1.66 though i am pretty confiodent in getting in. Hopefully for ht.
EDIT: i meant bloody Berwick I never as i was talking about Cowdenbeath. Berwick i know nothing about bar i will take anyone v them and Peterhead fits the bill.

Raith at 2.20 seems a fair bet. as mentioned i think they'll enjoy their trip to hampden and could have too much on the day for the amatuers who are no mugs and play well as a team) They won their last 8 away games of last season and if you take away their poor performance at Cowdenbeath ast week they still look worth following away from home. As you know i wasnt keen on them last week but this week i am. I think last week's defeat will actually be a good thing for them and get them playing again. Again though i havent read anything at Pie and Bovril really yet so i will need to have a read before i bet on any of these. Im a bit wary of QP mind and the draw does worry me a bit especially with Todd looking to be missing. I tghink i have to back them but i wouldnt put my savings on it. Actually ive never had savings in my life.

Balls ive really screwed up putting my last bucks into Sportingodds. im away to play my last bet365 poker money asd see if i can get myself some betting bucks
