Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 1-3rd Sep
01 Sep 14:00 Watford v Ipswich 4.33
Well I'm suprised at this price tbh , I saw Ipswich and they looked ok v Palace. Watford were thrashed at Leicester on saturday having started the season with 2 wins. They lost at Southend with a team of kids last night but spirits maybe a bit down as last seasons losing feeling may return.
Ipswich lie second with some nice results especially the 4-1 win at Sheffield.
Too nice to miss is that price

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 1-3rd Sep
Coventry 1.9 (canbet) v Preston
This looks it has to be taken with the castle walls crumbling at Deepdale , the chairmans just quit, and fans turning on Simpson after their dismal 3-0 defeat at home to Colchester inspired by the 87 year old Sherringham.
Quote:
Simpson said: "We have a relationship at the club where people can speak their mind and say where it is going wrong.
"But I want people with positive opinions not those who make things personal and have a hidden agenda.
"We've got the nucleus of a very strong squad who all want the same things but unfortunately there are other players who are trying to cause problems.
|
Holy hell he's on borrowed time is Simmo , the last team they want to meet is the hard working outfit that Dowie is leading this year. Top of the league they have now won their last 2 away games and this was their whole problem last season. Theuir second string won well last night at Carlisle so they should only get beaten by their own complacency.

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 1-3rd Sep
I'm already on Coventry at 1.90 Centrebet Keema. My first bet in the Championship this season, two teams with massively contrasting form to start the season, don't think Coventry should be that price.

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 1-3rd Sep
Bristol City look big odds if Weds fail to sign anyone before saturday. I hear the Sodje brothers are targets. Dreadful start to the season losing all games
City should fancy getting something here and a reverse of the 2-1 midweek defeat to Man City wouldn't surprise me.
Still, an eye on the transfers (oh by the way Millwall striker Byfield is signing for City today)

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 1-3rd Sep
I can only agree with what's already been written: Coventry v Preston looks like a home win as Cov are going great guns and Preston seem to be in freefall. Would never bet on a Leicester game but you have to wonder what state the players'll be in after the double shock of Clive Clarke's dramatic collapse on Tuesday night and then Martin Allen leaving the club yesterday. No idea if a new manager'll be in before Plymouth but whether it's a caretaker or a new permanent boss, I doubt he'll have too many coherent game plans.
Incidentally I saw Leicester v Watford last Saturday and although Watford were thrashed, their first half performance wasn't bad - only good City defending and an ability to cross accurately let them down. Second half Watford were awful, though.

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 1-3rd Sep
Its a factor we could do without and the tie shouldn't be bet on fox as you say.
Coventry does look so sweet and barring a managerial change at Preston it should oblige.
I never rated Law as a boss in the CCC to be honest , I'll need to have a closer look AND Bristol did use a lot of energy chasing our shadows last night Nah they played really well second half and has us in all sorts of problems at set pieces. looks well worth taking on though does that price.
I'll also be having a look at Colchester over evens again at home, was a nice little earner last season especially for Mickey (remember him when he used to come in here?)

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 1-3rd Sep
I've got Coulchester ear marked for this weekend but they shit in my nest a fortninght ago drawing 2-2 at home to Barnsley. They got sent down to 10 men after conceading a penalty but showed some bottle to come back and go 2-1 up before losing another goal.
The games last year ended 0-0 in this reverse but Coulchester won 2-1 away from home.

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 1-3rd Sep
Quote:
Sheffield Wednesday v Bristol City, Sky Sports, 12.45pm
It's the Owls versus the Robins at Hillsborough on Saturday lunchtime and backing the draw at 9/4 looks the most sensible play.
Wednesday were well touted as potential dark horses following their barnstorming finish last season which saw them finish just outside of the play-offs, but since then the Owls have failed to strengthen and in fact have lost key players, including the outstanding Chris Brunt who has moved to West Brom.
The Owls picked up their first win of the season when seeing off League One outfit Hartlepool after extra time in the second round of the Carling Cup on Tuesday, to finally give Wednesday fans something to smile about after a run of three straight defeats.
Before that Brian Laws' men had lost their opening three league games, shipping an alarming 10 goals in three games.
Their confidence hit an all time low when they gave away a 2-0 lead at Charlton to go down 3-2 at The Valley last Saturday and they will be in desperate need of getting some points on the board when they welcome the Robins.
Bristol City themselves have made a solid start to the season, winning one and drawing two of their opening three matches, and after putting in an impressive performance when going down 2-1 at home to resurgent Man City in the cup on Tuesday, Gary Johnson's men will head north confident of banking at least a point.
To be fair, Wednesday have lost to Charlton and Wolves who are both fancied to be challenging for promotion this season, so their early form might look worse than it is, but you have to take your hats off to City who have shown lots of promise further up the field, and it could be an entertaining encounter this one, with 2-2 worth taking a look at as well.

Quote:
Coventry v Preston, Sky Sports, 17.20pm
While Coventry fans will be whistling on their way to the Ricoh Arena, Preston fans will be fearing the worst, and backing the hosts to win 2-0 is the selection in this one.
The Sky Blues are unbeaten after five games this season and this week Iain Dowie was awarded the manager of the month award for August.
The impressive stat for Sky Blues fans is that three of their four wins have come on the road this season, and with just two goals conceded from five games the men from the Midlands are certainly proving a tough side to breakdown.
That is not to say they are not creating chances at the other end as well, and Dowie will be absolutely delighted to see his new look side gelling so quickly, both up front and at the back.
The same joys cannot be found at Preston who have started the season miserably and who this week lost their chairman, Derek Shaw, who quit after being verbally abused by the PNE fans following last Saturday's 3-0 home defeat to Colchester.
There has been plenty of unrest brewing at Deepdale for quite a while now due to a lack of funds being made available following the sale of high profile players such as David Nugent, and at present Preston look a good bet to be struggling near the bottom for the entire season.
With just one point from their first three league games and a 2-1 home defeat to League Two new boys Morecambe in the Carling Cup fresh in the memory, Preston are most definitely there for the taking at present, and with unrest behind the scenes Coventry can claim a comfortable win

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 1-3rd Sep
Not a bad write up from bettingzone but I can't really see any reason why you would call theSheff Weds/Bristol City game a draw apart from the fact its hard to see which side could win.
Weds will be desperate for 3 points from this one to start dragging them away from the bottom of the season while Bristol City should have some bite about them after being disappointed not to take Man City to extra time on wednesday and the prospect that they could go top of the league for a few minutes.
This game could well end in a draw but surely Weds will be going all out for the victory.
I prefer the overs in this one, with both teams being over in most of there games so far.

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 1-3rd Sep
I think the question on the coventry game is are preston a bad side or a side on a bad run, answer that then you see if you have your value.
I personally think the pricing is largely accurate this weekend, though if you have two teams with similar starts and one has a good home record would you favour the home team. you probably would and I think people are not thinking that with sheff united and scunthorpe, the price on united is the worst of the weekend.

Hi, I want to put my 5 cents in here cause you are on Coventry.Preston is not that bad at all.Just underachieving, sooner or later they gonna put some effort to bring the results, so that's why I decided to go on Preston +0.5 1.86 LB. GL2a anyway

Re: Coca-Cola League Championship 1-3rd Sep
I've already put money on Coventry, but I'm looking for a second CCC game to bet on. I'm tempted by Colchester @ 2.1 (betinternet) v Burnley. Why?
I've got to admit I've got Colchester all wrong. I thought without their two strikers from last year they'd struggle to score but they've scored 7 in 3. They let me down drawing at home to Barnsley a few weeks ago but they did have a man sent off early and apparently Barnsley's late equaliser was very dodgy. On the other hand, Burnley let me down by losing 2-0 at Scunthorpe, and I really think Scunthorpe are going to stuggle this year.
The big factor for me is that Burnley have injury and suspension problems - they only had 4 subs v Oldham in the Carling Cup on Tuesday. I need to think about it some more but Colchester *should* win this one.

Book Clinton in for a yellow if he reaches ton
SPREAD punters considering selling bookings in today's south London derby between Palace and Charlton should tread carefully.
Not only is there a chance that the mutual boardroom and terrace enmity between the clubs will manifest itself in a spiky contest, but Eagles hitman Clinton Morrison fully intends to get booked.
That's right. The Ireland striker, who has 99 career goals for Palace, says he's received permission from Peter Taylor to remove his shirt to reveal a t-shirt bearing the cryptic message ‘100 not out' if he finds the net.
