Re: Non League Midweek - 24/26th

Welcome to the last midweek coupon of the non league season!

Not a full one by any means with no Ryman and Southern but fair bit of Unibond cluttered action it seems.

Lets paste up what has been said already on these games at the end of the weekend thread....

odds are out an the Unibond remains in my focus with their crazy fixture pile up. I'm out the door now (typical) but without further investigation I've gone for 2 pts a piece on the following:

Telford v Wakefield 13/8
Marine V Gateshead 6/5 (sorry Marine are away there)
Matlock v Prescott Evs

And a point on Whitby v Frickey at 3/1.

Just quickly Telford on a great run. Wakefield will be relegated anyday now. I'd go 6/5 for Telford personally. Marine just beat Farsley away which is an amazing result. Odds against for the poor Gateshead. Quality.

Prescott are a hard side to call but coming off of good away wins against Guisely and Whitby (another hard place to go to and win). Matlock are sure to be knackered playing Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. front pairing for Presott describes as small and quick. This could be the game I add to with more research. Oh, Prescott will be well rested to.

Whitby 3/1? Frickley are playing three times this week. They are capable of a win but I'll have a point on that 3/1.

More later, no doubt..

Any thoughts on Gateshead AMP/Mr M

Witton conceded 5 on Saturday and it could have been more. They were out on their feet in the last 15 mins having played on the Thursday before as well

There are calls to send their reserves to give the first team a break. Thats unlikely as the reserves have a game on Tuesday and a trophy beckons.

Not sure if Gateshead are good enough to take advantage though. I think they still need a point to be safe from relegation

Evens is the price
You can get 5/4 at bet365 for Gateshead if you fancy it WAS.

7/2 on Whitby against Frickley at crazy Coral now also.

Re: Non League Midweek - 24/25/26th

For me using the above info the 11/4 on an improving Radcliffe at Witton looks tempting. Radcliffe will be all out for a win to preserve their status in the Unibond and Witton by then could be knackered as well as out of the playoff picture with nothing to play for.

Re: Non League Midweek - 24/25/26th

WAS

Evens / 5/4 is not given the Heed any value in my mind what so ever. I don't know what it is about them but I've never bet on them to win. Ever (And I must've had several hundred NL bets by now). Probably because they're so abject. 4 loses from their last 5 homes, only a win against out of sorts Burscough? Nah. 6/4 would make me consider them further but that price is terrible.

Well, I've had another look at the 6/5 about Marine at home to the above Gateshead really floats my boat. Heed play Sat / Mon / Weds but Marine are resting. They're looking to press on and finish as high as they can for the play-offs. Apparently great value for their win at Farsley. 5 away wins from their last seven but they have a nasty habit of slipping up against lower teams (Ilkeston / Guisely).

With WAS' "E" factor I'm going to up my stake from 2 to 4 as all things being equal I'd rate them at evens so the 6/5 is quite well overpriced.

Frodo - Radcliffe are a great price and I may well back depending how the bottom shapes up (ooh err) as you rightly mention.

GL All,

Bloody Corals eh?

They go 9/5 about Telford now which is an amazing price.

Will be interested to hear if Bromsgrove has any more info from Rob Smith. Why have the bookies been consitently overpricing Telford these last few weeks?

Strange.

Re: Non League Midweek - 24/25/26th

I am going for Staly to do Barrow priced 17/20 @ Betsafe. Stan James has 4/5 on it.
Staly need to get a win in order to make the weekend`s Droylsden match a playoff decider.
Should they win by 2 then any sort of win at Droylsden will get`em leapfrog over the Bloods.
And they are certainly scoring goals of late, 8 in the last two 2 @ home, Lee Ellington been banging a few with 7 in 5 matches. Barrow with nothing to play for, midtable finish beckons.
3 pts for me.

Re: Non League Midweek - 24/25/26th

Hi Nile.

I've been looking into that Staylbridge bet and I'd agree that it looks a good one!

Staylbridge were backed not so long back by a few on here as they are a great home side and a look at the stats will show 9 home wins from 10. Barrow are pretty dreadful away. I'll stick up their last match report as it makes for some interesting reading going into a game with a team who have just spanked Redditch 5-1 at the weekend.

Nuneaton worthy 0-3 winners as Barrow show little cohesion
by Barrow Lad

Barrow lined up as follows:-

Bishop, Flitcroft, Ridley, Cotterill, Smith, Howson, Rushton, Anthony, Heiniger, Knight, Olsen.

At half time, Heffernan replaced Rushton, Burgess replaced Anthony
In the 58th minute Kewley replaced Smith.

A cloudy but warm Spring afternoon saw Barrow playing towards the crossbar end in the first half. Although we started brightly, an Anthony shot being saved in the 3rd minute, the remainder of the match would see only a couple more half chances from Barrow, our aimless passing and strategy being exposed by Nuneaton who demonstrated why they are 3rd in the league.

In the 11th minute, a misaimed back pass by Heiniger fell to Nuneaton’s No.10 who passed to No. 9 Scott Rickards for the visitor’s first. Ridley shot over in the 19th minute and although Barrow had periods of possession, there was little coherence and no positive results. In the 29th minute a fast breakaway by Nuneaton saw the ball passed across the goal and slotted in from the left by Borough’s No.11 David Staff, leaving Bishop stranded. Bishop looked like he had not recovered from his recent injury as his kicks were being taken by Howson.

After half-time the visitors went further ahead. In the 52nd minute, Heffernan cleared a goal-bound attempt but a minute later from the resultant corner, Nuneaton’s No.3 Kevin Wilton made it 0-3.

In the 71st minute Ridley went down injured and it looked like Barrow would have to play with 10 men. Fortunately he soon recovered. In the 75th minute Borough made a triple substitution with Nos.10,4 and7 being replaced by 12,14 and 15.

The crowd of 752 started leaving before the final whistle. For those that remained, Barrow had one last gasp chance in the 88th minute from a Howson free kick. Burgess placed a well-aimed ball into the penalty area but unfortunately to no avail.

The sponsors, the Evening Mail, awarded Man Of The Match to Steve Flitcroft although there was a gasp of disagreement from many in the crowd. Nuneaton’s fans, complete with Northern Exiles flag, celebrated their team’s victory noisily in the corner.

In summary we had a fair amount of possession but did little with it. The scoreline reflected the gulf between the teams on the day. Roll on next season!

Hi AMP.

Yes, Barrow are poor on the road having a record of 3-5-11 and lost 4 out of last 6 as well.
It seems to me they are in a vacation mood already and are not likely to put up much resistence agianst Staly.

Local bookie open for conference only. grays v southport. grays home wdwd recent games. southport recent away dldd. h2h 29-10-05 southport 1 grays 4. anyone willing to comments. My feelings would go for grays since grays third 40 games on 75 points and hereford 2nd 41 games on 77. Southport 18th 40 games with 39 points. southport might be fighting to keep above relegation.

Hmmmm. Not seeing a lot of difference across the online books at the moment.

Interwetten are yet to release prices. Maybe they've bottled it

Suke - RE: Grays

Dont see any value on Grays at all at 8/13 tbh. Theyre guaranteed playoffs now which will be a weight off their backs and Southport need just 1 point more to avoid relegation mathematically. It would not suprise me at all to see it end in a draw this game. Southport drew away to Hereford at the weekend also and only fell victim at Halifax by a 90th minute winner before that.

Re: Non League Midweek - 24/25/26th

Im with AMP on Telford tonight. Im playing it slightly differently but the 9/5 is too big for sure.

Lets take a quick peak at Wakefield and Telfords recent records....

Wakefield in 2006, 2-2-10

Telford last 15, 7-8-0

Doesnt take a genius to see that Telford should not be losing this game.

Im wary of taking the straight Telford win though it is a nice price. They draw a lot (which has seen me avoid punting on them 3 times in the last couple of months) and also Wakefield earned a draw with Frickley recently. However at 9/5 we can totally apply a draw saver into the equation.

Taking Corals 9/5 and StanJames 13/5 draw you can get 2.02 (or for the non fussy Evens! ) for a Telford DNB which you have to say on 2006 evidence looks a very solid bet indeed. 5pts for me.

Re: Non League Midweek - 24/25/26th

Haven't checked the odds this evening but earlier today I managed to create a Telford DNB of 2.1 after commission on Betfair. I thought the match report on the Frickley draw indicated that Wakefield were very lucky to get the draw. Wakefield's last 8 at home read 2-1-5, the wins coming in December and the beginning of February.

Mostly I'm posting because I'm chuffed that having only just begun any betting and even mre recently non-league, I've managed to come up with the same conclusion as mrmuzeman.

Falling over in shock
