Re: Coca-Cola League Two 12-14th Oct

I'm not getting involved this weekend, international games mean silly kick off times and dates, it suits some teams but not others and it's hard to pick out which is which.
I'll leave a few thoughts though for what it's worth...

Chester v Hereford, 3rd v 2nd, T.Bemjamin has just been named player of the month for this league for his 4 goals in 5 games but i've watched him 3 or 4 times this season and he always looks as though he's lacking in confidence to me, he does hold the ball up well though and wins a fair share of free kicks around the edge of the box. Turner has very good options upfront with him, Guinan and Robinson, we also have good wingers in Ainsworth and Easton which has made us a good attacking team this season. From our league away games we have scored 2, 2, 3, 1, and 3 at Notts County last week, so odds of 11/5 does strike me as being a little bit generous, though i'm aware of the goal threat and current form of Chester.
It looks like an overs to me.

A slight negative from the Chester camp...
From the BBC
Boss Bobby Williamson has hit out at the schedule demands that are forcing his Chester side to play three games within the space of six days.
"The people who arrange the tournaments ought to have a look at themselves," he said after the 4-2 loss over Carlisle in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

"Why we had to play on Sunday I don't know and why we have to play on Friday I still don't know either.

"These people have to look at it, if we're to do this tournament justice."

MK Dons v Lincoln The top team at home v 2nd bottom, 8/15 is available here and if this was a Saturday 3.00 k.o. i'd take that, Dons in fine form with Lincoln in no form but a Sunday 1.30 k.o. puts me off a bit, i wouldn't be suprised to see a 5-0 win or 2 pts dropped here.

Peterborough v Wycombe Posh have not been to fluent at home apart from the opening game of the season but they have been grinding out results, i think they only have to keep McGleish quiet and they can take another 3 points here, not a bad price at 5/6 but again its a Sunday lunchtime k.off.

Barnet v Mansfield Barnet have been superb and you'd expect to see them win here but not many teams win 5 on the bounce in this league, Mansfield who have shown a little fight of late are quite big @ 11/2 with Victor C. and 12/5 the draw. I expect another Barnet win but if i was offered a free bet on the game i'd chance the bigger prices.

Grimsby, Dag + Red and Darlington i'd call home wins and for some juicy prices away from home there looks a little value in Rotherham and Chesterfield.

Good luck whoever yer on

Was also looking at Morecambe keep thinking McCalls Bradford will suddenly click into gear and find form but doesnt seem to be happening so maybe a good shout for home win. Also looking at Grimsby see they signed Logan from Man City on loan today and he will play but Rochdale are no pushover need to look more closely later on.

Re: Coca-Cola League Two 12-14th Oct

well,hello everybody(long time since i wrote something)
some barnet news
first of all is an early kick off(13.00)
Northern Line is suspended from East Finchley (replacement bus or no.365 from Archway)
Yakubu is not playing so O'Cearuill is taking his place.Yakubu apart from the fact that is captain is a key member at the CM of barnet's defense alongside Sagi Burton.Joe Devera is doubtful too.Kenny Gillet the french guy is injured a long time now.
In the midfield Leary is still injured,on loan Josh Wright is on duty with England U17 and Bishop is doubtful at the moment(friday evening).
So if Bishop is out Fairclough will have big problem to fill all the gaps.Max Porter can play as a right def(Devera)or as a cent.mid(Wright,Bishop).The problem is that he is the only first team player left and the gaps are bigger in numbers.
Well whatever
ps.Graz is back

Is there any in running on the Chester v Hereford game? I suggest a lay of Hereford if there is, our central defender has just been subbed with a seriuos injury. Key Player!

Re: Coca-Cola League Two 12-14th Oct

Leagues 1 and 2 are buggers to predict, aren't they? I've got a 73% success rate in the Prem so far this season, 67% in the Championship, and then 33% in League 1 and a big fat 0% in League 2. Can I break my duck tomorrow?

The game I'm looking at is Shrewsbury v Chesterfield. Shrewsbury seem to have been found out in recent weeks and have a number of injury worries to boot. Chesterfield on the other hand will have top scorer Jack Lester (7 goals this season) fit and available for selection after being injured recently. At the moment you can get Chesterfield 0/0.5 AH @ 1.8 with betinternet so you can even make a wee profit on a draw. I'll sleep on it but I'm tempted for sure.

Re: Coca-Cola League Two 12-14th Oct

Bloody hell people. Will you please plough into Barnet, 4 wins on the trot, Mansfield 6 defeats on the trot. If only so I can take advantage of a nicer price on the visitors. Yes folks, I'm going all Komp on you (it's in the dictionary honest) and could be up for a bit of Mansfield. It's not just the players we have out it's what's replacing them......

Our midfield which has been the key to our season lose England under 19 international Josh Wright and the hugely influential Neil Bishop. Back-up Michael Leary is injured too so it'll be Max Porter who's still basically a conference south footballer, not up to L2 yet, and by the sounds of it one of two options.........

1) Liam Hatch, calamitous donkey like striker, headless chicken, limbs flailing everywhere, and if that doesn't get him sent off his gob probably will.
2) Stephane Seanla, described as the worst player ever to play for Barnet, and you can have it on my authority that that is one hell of an achievement.

In defence we're likely to be without 3 of our first choice back 4 too most notably captain Ismail Yakubu.

Last season our record against the bottom 6 was horrific. This season is following a pattern, games where both Bishop and Yakubu don't play we don't win, games which they both do we don't lose.

If Bishop doesn't play and whatever team we put out against Mansfield gets a win then that's a massive signal that Mansfield are struggling if the table doesn't already show it.

Mansfield showed a spirited fightback last week against Rotherham and the week before were utterly robbed by the ref against Mk Dons. Mansfield's key defender Baptiste is on his way back too, I think he'll make a decent difference to them.

My advice check out the teams at 12.50 tomorrow. Then lay Barnet, take Mansfield +1, or a cheeky little punt on the away or even better open an account somewhere or other and use it as a free bet as Kop said.

Only other game I'm looking at is Macc to beat Wrexham but given Macc haven't actually won at home this season I'm 99% certain I won't be on it. This week is a disappointing week if I'm honest.

Mansfield got plenty of important missings as well, at least what I've read at soccernet.com

Anyone got any info or thoughts on those missing from Mansfield? I was just here to take Mansfield and Shrewsbury but Eastern Fox has put me off them now. Frodo you still pretty keen on Mansfield?

Re: Coca-Cola League Two 12-14th Oct

Bishop will start, though how fit he is is pure guesswork. I'm less keen on Mansfield now Komp. Might still be a draw but the straight away win has much less appeal.

Mansfield's key players IMO, Dawson, Baptiste, Boulding and Hamshaw all start.
