Crawley's appeal dismissed by FA
Crawley have lost their appeal against a six-point penalty imposed by the Blue Square Premier, reports BBC SCR.
Crawley appealed to the FA in a bid to overturn the punishment handed out by the league in the summer for a breach of financial regulations.

The Reds now officially drop from eighth in the Blue Square Premier table on 24 points to 16th place.

Meanwhile the win over Histon was seen by Steve Coppell, with the Reading boss believed to be watching Jamie Stevens.

Boss Steve Evans said: "For someone who has just turned 18, you can see why the likes of Steve Coppell are here."

I didn't need that for my ante post bet

Will they come out fighting at Weymouth this weekend, will it affect their decent form so far this season?

Dover Athletic 29/20, you're kidding me. That wont last long. 10pts on that straight away. Whyteleafe have home advantage, playing above expectation this season, but will struggle to hold off Hessentalers Dover.

I reckon so. I had typed out a decent sized message but in trying to post it and log on it seems to have gone.

Anyway, a shorter version, there's a big meeting to tonight to discuss the future of the club. Players have not been paid this week meaning that it appears the chairman is already taking what he can get and is clinging on for the TV revenue from saturday's game. With no potential buyers lined up this could be Northwich's last game.

From an Exeter pov I can't see them being complacent for the reason that Northwich may yet try and last the season out and they've a manager who won't allow it.

More info here, pretty much every thread is a read is itself...... http://www.nvfc.co.uk/board/index.php?board=1.0

Re: Non League 12-14th Oct

The Exeter bet looks a solid one.

I'll just mention that Richard Logan has scored 6 times in the last 6 games for Exeter and is the 2nd highest scorer in the conference with 11 goals, he's 7/4to score at anytime with Skybet and 13/2 first scorer at Paddy P's, he might be worth considering as an added or alternative bet here.

Re: Non League 12-14th Oct

Friday:

Chatham Town 2.90 X 3.50 Met Police 2.00; A solitary point at home is all Chatham can show at home this season, but the point unexpectedly came from T&M. 2 goals down as well. I believe this was a bit of a fluke. However that said Chatham have resigned forward Smith who left for Maidstone less than a month ago and defernder Tedder from Redbridge. These two went straight into team that beat Kings 3-1 last w/e in the FAT. This could be the moral boasting kick they need for the season to begin. Met Police however are a decent side, underestimate them at your peril, considering the injury woes they have. 5 out injured for tonights(Friday) match and although they have three others back from injury they surely cannot be fully match fit. I suppose on paper you could say a straight forward Met Police away win. I don’t think this is straight forward. I can see Chatham nicking this(pardon the pun) by a goal to nil or a 1-1. NO BET

More later..

Re: Non League 12-14th Oct

Burgess Hill 1.60 X 3.60 Walton C 4.40; Frustrating is the word when trying to get info from some teams in this league. Both of these are no exception. A fortnight ago, BHT were unlucky to lose v Sittingbourne in a match they should have drawn. Their forum suggest maybe they ought to be higher in the league, well maybe one or two places making them just outside playoff position maybe, but no higher I would of thought. Striker Sadough seems to be the goalscorer in this side and is lacking a tad of confidence of late but could well find it v Walton C who are deep in the mire just outside the relegation zone. That said they have outscored Kingstonian who lie in second by a goal, but let in 15 more than them. They signed Tyson and Kent in the last week or two so have strengthened a bit. Badu looks to be the main threat with 4 goals so far this term and is due another one on averages. Greg Ball is another forward that BHT must look out for. BHT should win this and I’ll have 1pt on the HOME WIN. They may be no value as such here, but I suppose it depends on what you call value.

Horsham YMCA 2.25 X 3.50 Chipstead 2.50; YM’s are looking at a season of struggle. Midfielder Jupp is reportly considering a 7 day approach from Worthing Town. Jupp seems to be one of their most consistent performers and would be a real blow. There is little or no information about them so to speak. No news is good news as the saying goes, but no news could be intrepretated as despondency. The next five matches could well decide the season for them, with potential candidates for relegation next with the exception of Cray Wands. They start with Chipstead who have found a little found of late. A 1-1 v T&M in the FAT last w/e I think is a little flattering, but a 5-0 thrashing of Molesey and a 2-1 win v Eastbourne shows against teams who on paper will be around them, they just may have an edge. As with YM’s, this match for Chipstead could speak volumes about where they will be next year. I reckon Chipstead could sneak it here. NO BET

Molesey 3.90 X 3.50 Ashford Town(Kent)1.70; Moles are conceding over 3 goals a game at the moment. Their best defeat came when playing away at Kingstonian, only managing to lose by a goal to nil. Only having scored two home goals is neither too good either, but in Ashford Town they have a chance here. Ashford like it tight until they have a couple clear on the board then they score at will it seems. Molesey have to keep it tight to have any chance of a point at least. Sooner or later they’ll get a result and Ashford represent the best chance to date this season. The Nut’n’Bolts by contrast depend on what team turns up. They are quite capable of winning, but equally will get stuffed if they don’t perform and NO BET is the sensible option I reckon.

Re: Non League 12-14th Oct

Whitstable 3.15 X 3.50 Leatherhead 1.90; Kent league champions Whitstable have done pretty well imo so far. wins v Horsham and Walton C but these have been on the road, two draws at home, one of those v Dover show that they can cut it, but Dover are generous in defence. The Oystermen are looking to emulate Ramsgate & Maidstone who won the KL and then followed it up with promotion from Ryman1 South. It ain’t gonna happen for them, but midtable is realistic for them. However v Leatherhead they come up against a side who seem to have turned the corner in recent weeks. Last week they beat Eastbourne 1-0 away, it should have been 2-0 at least reading forums and match reports. I fancy Leatherhead here again but I am reluctant, I’m not ruling it off my coupon but…

Whyteleafe 2.30 X 3.50 Dover 2.45; The Leafe are surprising people with their league position. So lets look at them then. Only one real surprise when they beat Sittingbourne 2-0, however ‘bourne were really struggling with injuries (6 out) other than that results have gone to form. They recently went 400 league minutes without conceding before Met Police scored twice, ‘The defence was pulled to pieces’ which will please Dover, as they can pull any of this leagues defences to shreads and who are unbeaten this term so far. Reading their forum after the home draw with Dulwich, it seems that they let them back into it, rather than shutting shop after leading 2-0 and looking comfortable. Dover will score goals I believe, it just a case of how many they concede. AWAY WIN.

Reading more in depth stuff from Worthing forum, I could be on Chipstead v Ym's. Jupp looks certain to go I reckon. Cracking stuff if true.

Re: Non League 12-14th Oct

I like the looks of Weymouth at home today decent odds..Looks they are building some kind of momentum and Crawley stats away are crap..But now with the points deduction i am not so sure anymore..I also like x2 of Forest Green they seem to be in form and Rashden not a quite good home record

Re: Non League 12-14th Oct

Dont let me put you off Gargan as i'm hardly on form in this league but i'm of the opinion that Crawley are going to be fighting for points like never before after that points deduction (could we use Leeds as an example)? And although Weymouth are on a bit of a role they have lost some bad ones at home. Of course it could go the other way and it could be all down hill from now on but tbh i'm starting to like what Crawley are achieving under Evans and i think they are starting to get to grips with the away fixtures too now.
