Newcastle v Arsenal 5th Dec

Barclays Premier League
05 Dec 19:45 Newcastle v Arsenal 5.00 3.40 1.66

Odds Bet365

Don't suppose anybody could oppose Arsenal here only thing against them is the distance they have to travel to get to St James's.

Nothings going right for Newcastle at the moment, slight pick up in form against Blackburn but they still get rolled over 3-1.
Just cannot see anyway Newcastle can Arsenal any problems allthough Villa shown they can be got at as their 2nd half display against the Gunners shown but that was a Villa side who are on form unlike Newcastle.

Arsenal have the capability to stroll this and probably will.

As a disheartened season ticket holder it is extremely hard to see the "toon" picking up anything from this game,we played better against Blackburn but the defence still leaked: against the Arsenal attack, which ever combination these use, will more than likely run riot, could this be Big Sam's last game?

Re: Newcastle v Arsenal 5th Dec

I'm not so sure this will be his last game Toonman as i doubt the board will expect much against Arsenal but the next home game against Birmingham is going to be crucial for him , even more so now as Birmingham will be on a high after todays result.

Its a tricky one with Alladyce as he has brought in a lot of backroom staff with the intention of a long term project as he did at Bolton but I don't think anybody expected Newcastle to have had the run of results they have and be in this postition.

I've no doubt Sam will be able to turn it around as soon as he can buy in January as your defensive inadequacies are plain to see but the main question is will the board be patient with the fans on their backs as replacing him now won't change aything imo and who would you replace him with?

I'm not the biggest Alladyce fan due to his negative football but given time he'll get the players in who will do a job for him.

Re: Newcastle v Arsenal 5th Dec

Funny old game isn't it.

Newcastle played pretty damn well at Ewood and the scoreline flattered Blackburn as from watching it you would have only picked Newcastle to go on and win the game but the luck never came. Free header miss from Martens then Blackburn score up the other end.

The fans will get on the players back early on if things aren't looking good so i expect Newcastle to come out the blocks quick but do they have the quality to overturn Arsenal? I am not so sure.

Either way i dont see value in this game and it is probably best left alone IMO.

You don't see value in this game? I think anything over 1.50 on Arsenal is a giveaway! Newcastle have gone from bad to worse this season, and have gained just one point in the last five games. Contrast that record with Arsenals 11 wins and 3 draws from their 14 games and you can see the size of Newcastles task here. If an inform Aston Villa couldn’t even take a point from them then what chance does Newcastle have?

I may have a slice of the overs (depending what its set at) because with the players that will be available for both teams - I see goals.

Newcastle have not been getting the results but this could (could and not would) be the springboard they may be needing just to kick start their season again.

It's live on the box - isnt it ?

Arsenal @ 1.73

Gunners are relentless. They managed to reach all three points at Villa Park and so get back on winning trek after the first defeat in the season they suffered in Seville. Newcastle are in a completely opposite situation. Unlike Arsenal who have the play and the results, Newcastle are again in crisis.

Allardyce started the season well, but it seems that Magpies are under some kind of a curse and no one can help them. They lost four out of last five matches in the league and now Allardyce is under great pressure since everyone talks about his replacement.

Newcastle will be without defenders Abdoulaye Faye (calf) and Stephen Carr (hamstring) for the game against Premier League leaders Arsenal. Centre-back Steven Taylor (back) could return, but defender Claudio Cacapa and striker Michael Owen are both out.

Midfielder Mathieu Flamini has joined Arsenal’s growing injury list, which also includes Alex Hleb, Cesc Fabregas and Abou Diaby. Striker Robin van Persie is working on his match fitness after a knee problem.

Arsenal have already beaten Newcastle this season. They won a Carling Cup third round tie 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium on 25 September when Nicklas Bendtner and Neves Denilson got their goals.

The Magpies recorded their only victory in 14 league and cup meetings with Arsenal, when Nol Solano scored the only goal of the game in this corresponding fixture on 10 December 2005.

I dont expect a repeat and arsenal despite their injurys are at a good price.

Re: Newcastle v Arsenal 5th Dec

Like most there I see an Arsenal win as the only rational outcome , but the history between these two doesn't always favour an 'away' win...the last 10 visits by Arsenal has produced just 2 wins in all comps....something to think about.
The Overs 2.5 @ 2.00 generally seems a bet to have as one can score as well as the other concedes..Nice.

If yopu can get 1.80 -ish on the Gunners it's a steal...Italked myself out of AC Milan last night and regret it...not again!
