Re: Celtic v Falkirk Scots Prem 11th Dec

Celtic midfielder Massimo Donati is back in contention after resuming training following the knock he sustained against AC Milan last week.
Artur Boruc, Lee Naylor, Mark Wilson, Jean-Joel Perrier-Doumbe, John Kennedy and Shunsuke Nakamura are all sidelined for Gordon Strachan's side.
Celtic: (from) Mark Brown, Caldwell, Pressley, McManus, O'Dea, Jarosik, Zurawski, Donati, Sno, Scott Brown, Hartley, McGeady, McDonald, Vennegoor of Hesselink, McGovern, Balde, Killen, Caddis, Riordan

Best bet for this game for me is Celtic to keep a clean sheet @1.85, I think that Celtic dont allow another surprise like on the past game with St Miren, and they will get serious this game and they play defense strongly...and dont allow Falkirk to score

Great spy there Exer

celtics home form

Celtic 7 5 2 0 20 1

Conceding 1 goal in 7 games sounds like easy cash

Wouldn't be so sure about this for several reasons:

Mark Brown will be in goal again for Celtic after Boruc had Knee surgery and he is much less reliable. Looked a bit at fault for St Mirren's goal on Saturday with poor parry after Paul Hartley lost his man while playing at left back.

Celtic have no recognised Full backs available and have been playing with 4 centre backs and are extremely vulnerable if teams get at them.

Falkirk have struck a rich vein of form winning their last 2 games and scoring 8 goals. This is considerably better than normal and they have scored against Celtic 3 times in their last 6 games.

Personally I would not take this bet and feel a better option would be celtic to score in each half at 1.73. However odds are too low for straight win and I do not think Asian is possible with Celtic only winning by more than 1 on 2 occaisions in last 6 meetings.

No bet for me unless Derek Riordan has played his way into starting with his equaliser on Saturday. Then I may do the goal in each half.

If he isn't playing I may also consider Falkirk at +1.75 1.975 at Victor Chandler

Good Luck all

Re: Celtic v Falkirk Scots Prem 11th Dec

boruc's missing may be a bit of a concern for the host, and while they're not without chances to come away with the win in the 1-1 draw with st mirren, the heavy schedule would have been one factor that explains for their inability to win in their last 3, much less winning by more than a goal. celtic's home record in the SPL is good, 2 unexpected shock draws with 5 wins all by more than a goal.

falkirk seem to have got into a rich vein of form, two pairs of good results lately, however a closer inspection of the table will show something else. not exactly the best traveller, all four away defeats are by two or more goals(including a 7-2 thumping by rangers). the only two away wins are big wins at st mirren and gretna, two of the worst home sides so far.

going by form it'll be falkirk to cover the handicap, but i have my doubts on backing them, especially with celtic being given a slap in the face after the draw with st mirren. rangers are 2 pts behind with a game in hand before this match, three pts a must for the hosts, handicap? possibly so...
