18/19th Dec: Carling Cup

Carling Cup
18 Dec 19:45 Man City v Tottenham 2.30 3.25 2.87
18 Dec 20:00 Blackburn v Arsenal 2.70 3.25 2.37
19 Dec 19:45 Chelsea v Liverpool 1.90 3.25 3.75

Odds Bet365

Comeon Citeh , Come on Citeh..

I suggest we get in some team news b4 backing any of the above allthough i should imagine City, Spurs and Blackburn will be putting out full strengh squads, Liverpool @ 3.75 could also prove tempting should Terry be out as Chelsea's defence is shocking without him and Carvalho.

Re: Carling Cup 18-19th Dec

Spurs/Arsenal/Liverpool....that's the bets for me.

Carling Cup games are often unbalanced in terms of League performances due to team changes, so I agree with Slick that team news will be important, but I feel Spurs can overpower a City side with their attacking options in this one, while Arsenal are simply too good for a currently lost looking Rovers.
Liverpool fare better on their travels and Chelsea seriously miss Drogba and now Terry leaves a gap at the back.

Chelsea are too often uninventive in their matches, and Cup ties demand quicker minds and reflexes. Liverpool love a knockout scenario and can take this one. That 3.75 is HUGE!!!

Re: 18/19th Dec: Carling Cup

Im all for Spurs to get through and then lose to Chelsea at some point. Anyone fancy the over 2.5 in all three? Nah maybe not. I was just bumping this thread reall to see how this date format looks on the threads. What am i missing here? Where's the other game?

Re: 18/19th Dec: Carling Cup

Here's a better 'bumper' here. A message from the man-

Quote:
Chelsea v Liverpool Live SS2
If Andriy Shevchenko scores the last goal of the above match, then Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st/last goalscorer, correct score and scorecast single bets on this match.

- Applies to singles placed before kick-off only.
- Applies to 1st/last goalscorer, correct score & scorecast markets only.
- Applies to win part of EW bets only.
- Max Refund €300/£200 per customer/bet.
- Paddy Power football rules apply.
- Own goals do not count
- Opta Index decision on last Goalscorer is final.
- 90 mins play only
- Goals scored in extra-time do not count
suppose it's a little something if you like that sort of betting. Would it make any sense backing him to score the last goal?

Aye mugs bets. dont get me wrong i suppose a wee perm on 1st and last and correct score (seperatly) is ok. I find them scorecast bets (1st scorer and correct score) as being a bit of a mugs bet and when you hear about folks getting them up i dont think 'uncanny accuracy of picking powers' i just think 'mug'. Sorry if you do them. You mug.

Re: 18/19th Dec: Carling Cup

Tricky fixtures them but as you already mention team news will be a must

Blackburn v Arsenal
Blackburn will be without defender Brett Emerton, who was sent off in Saturday's defeat at Wigan.

Defender Andre Ooijer is set to miss the next few weeks with a hamstring injury suffered earlier this month.

Arsenal look set to be without midfielder Emmanuel Eboue after he suffered a knee ligament injury during Sunday's win over Chelsea.

Theo Walcott (knee) is expected to start but there are doubts over Lassana Diarra, who has asked to leave Arsenal.

Man City v Spurs

City have recalled goalkeeper Joe Hart to replace Andreas Isaksson.

Elano could also return after a hamstring injury but Stephen Ireland is again ruled out through suspension.

With skipper Robbie Keane suspended, Spurs manager Juande Ramos must decide between Darren Bent, Dimitar Berbatov and Jermain Defoe up front.

Michael Dawson is again a doubt after a migraine attack that required hospital checks. Midfielder Didier Zokora could continue in his place at the back.

Re: 18/19th Dec: Carling Cup

i think city will be too strong for spurs at the c.o.m.......elano back as well tomorrow night......i was at citys game last saturday against bolton.....and i tell you if city play like they did in the 2nd half of that game against spurs tomorrow night there is only going to be 1 winner.....i reckon spurs defence will crumble......city are not going to beat too many times at home this season........i think the 11-8 on a city win is very big.......

Re: 18/19th Dec: Carling Cup

I watched last year Rovers against Arsenal in the Carling Cup and it was so boring without too much chances,I will say that this year will be more or less the same thing with freezing weather...Arsenal with fringe players will try to steal the time and the ball and look for counter attacks and Blackburn is in the bad mood lately, maybe Hughes will try to shake up the line up...from my point of view this under all over the place...

Same thing in Manchester,Juande Ramos will try to keep clean sheet for another game and maybe he will play little bit conservative...I don't think that Sven will try to steal Carling Cup in his first season so I think that he will rest many standard players apart from Elano,he is back from injury....I will try to check the lineups before bets but I think it is one more under game for tonight, and maybe small bets on final score 0-0 on both games...

Re: 18/19th Dec: Carling Cup

Arsenal above evens looks a bet for me, I really rate them in this competition, the youngsters always seem to put up a battle. Going to Blackburn on a cold tuesday night is not ideal BUT I think the price is worth taking for a team with so much quality against a team lacking in confidence and having 5 stuffed past them at the weekend by a rugby team. I am going to get on before the teams are announced as if Blackburn rest some the price will shorten so quickly

sven is resting no one.....he will be playing his strongest available team tonight......he even rested elano last saturday against bolton so he could be sure of him playing tonight.......

Re: 18/19th Dec: Carling Cup

Gunna plump for City tonight cracking form at home 9 wins out of 9 and shall be boosted by the return of Elano.

Also for Arsenal..Blackburn are in woeful form at the minute i fancy the youngsters to get the win!

Re: 18/19th Dec: Carling Cup

all i know is if city play like they have been doing at home this season there is no way i can see city getting beat......maybe a draw at worst......and i also think that 11-8 is a massive price for them.......in my book they are 4-5.....with elano back........but in football you just never know.....form book might not count........
