Re: English Prem and Carling Cup Final 23/24/25th Feb

I know it's only my opinion but this looks like one of the most unpredictable set of fixtures in the Prem so far this season.

Take out your Arsenal and Liverpool and the rest (yes, even United) look like far from certain.

With that in mind, I'm looking for the "draw no bet" prices which I've recently become a fan of (due to JTW) and have been making a profit from.

First the easy selections

Spurs DNB v Chelsea in the cup final 13/8 stan james

Sunderland @ Pompley 10/3 (crazy price)

Derby @ Wigan 10/3 b365

Bolton @ Blackburn 9/4 blue square

Everton @ Man City 11/10 (crazy price) paddy power

In the Fulham West Ham game you could toss a coin as far as I'm concerned but Totesport are offering 9/5 for Fulham DNB so I'll go for that.

Reading Villa, I would probably call as a draw if I was pushed for a verdict but I'm willing to risk a DNB for the home team at 11/10 with Paddy power

and I think 9/2 DNB Newcastle is a worthwhile shout so that completes the scoring from the Russian judges.

10pts on each.

Now I'm off to see if I can better those prices by backing the draw and win on betfair instead

I'd suggest you could take out your Arsenal and Liverpool too. Liverpool have let points slip at home to lesser teams than Boro this season - Birmingham and Wigan for example.

And I don't care who the 2 sides are, to be backing an away win at 1.5 between two sides in the same division, I'd have to be absolutely convinced there was nothing that could possibly go wrong. Tough 90 minutes against Milan midweek for Arsenal (and indeed the same for Liverpool against Inter), I wouldn't go near either of them at the price.

I'll conceed the Arsenal point mate but, as I post every week, I see Boro as one of the worst teams in this division. If I was to die tomorrow and find out that there did happen to be an all seeing god ruling over this universe of ours, the first question I'd ask is how the fuck Boro managed to out play Arsenal earlier in the season. It defys all the laws of time, space and logic and I can only assume that god took a day off on that day and some fucker started messing about with his control panel.

Liverpool are dodgy at the back, returning from a tough european game and unpredictable at the best of times.

On the other hand, Boro are shit.

I appreciate you're probably not going to change your mind there, and I sympathise with the sentiments However, Liverpool have won less than half of their home league games this season (5 of 12), and Boro are on a reasonably respectable run of just 1 defeat in their last 7 aways. Admittedly that defeat was a 3-0 battering at Birmingham, but a 1-0 win at Portsmouth was a decent result, as was a draw at Blackburn.

I'm not saying I'd back Boro, but I certainly wouldn't trust Liverpool at 2/5.

liverpool to beat boro is logic bet

the second one from premier, is man utd to beat newcastle

last year they drew 2-2, it was the begining of the year 2007 if remember correctly, and i lost big bet,

but this year newcastle is very very bad, misery team, in my eyes this would be the most easiest away game for utd

good luck

Im also thinking Man United...

Newcastle as we all know have been underperforming and if United lose this then they can kiss their season goodbye...

I think liverpool will get a run of results together after their victory in europe. Sunderland are simply atrocious away from home and i think Pompey will capatalise on this. Wigan should dispose of a poor Derby outfit. These 3 pays out around 5/2 stick in utd and arsenal and its bumped to 13/2

Call me daft , ( the wife does ) but the toughest game is Fulham v West Ham. I'll take the Hammers by a goal.

Small upset The Royals and Villans to end in a draw. (11/5 willie Hill)

and finally Chelsea to win 2-1 AET.

well i would have had the Carling cup final on a seperate thread myself but im just trying picking for the best Kegman

Chelsea to win in normal time is my bet. chelsea always do this. I was suprised when i looked up the record between the two before the last meeting when Eddy and others believed that any sort of tottenham revival went beyond Chelsea.

1-2 final score for me with chelsea going 2 up

Re: English Prem and Carling Cup Final 23/24/25th Feb

Nobody any thoughts on tonights match Man City v Everton?

Looking forward to this game a lot tell the truth and just hope City can now go forward and build on their win against the rags at Old trafford.

City biggest problem now is having to many players to select from now all are returning from Injury and suspension, Sven has virtually a full strength squad to pick from which may hinder the team here i fear, because does he go with the team that beat United so convincingly or does he pick his better players like Elano, Corluka and Johnson allthough the latter probably needs games under his belt to gain full match fitness but Elano does play better when Johnson is around.

Huge game for both sides nevertheless as Everton look to nudge ahead of Liverpool once more and climb into forth spot and City looking to get on par with that cluster of teams including Everton on 47 points.

The two week rest City have had may hold them in good stead as regards the new boys like Benjani etc who will just be getting to know his new team mates and the more time in training the better as he learns set plays etc allthough some may think the break could do more harm than good as it breaks up momentum.

In the reverse of this fixture a couple of months ago there wasent much between the sides with Everton sneaking a late winner in a game City didnt even have a shot on target from what i remember and should imagine tonights game will be pretty much the same with home advantage and a new striker giving City some extra bite.

Both these sides play a similar style of football and player for player its a pretty even match across the board allthough Yakubu seems to be hitting the form that made him a Premiership menace at Boro last season, whereas City could still be a bit blunt up front unless Benjani carrys on from where he left off in his first game for the Blues against United as he filled a niche in an area city have been lacking all season.

Draw and under 2.5 goals could be the way to go here allthough i have a sneaky feeling City might just pinch this.

I've decided to go against City. Think it'll be a tight affair but I can see Everton just edging out a stubborn City.

Re: English Prem and Carling Cup Final 23/24/25th Feb

man city v everton-thoughts are as follows, both teams have been in great form recently and i imagine morale is high in both sides but i'm going to back the city.
they're playing at home and also coming off a FANTASTIC result against man utd i think that man city will play with absolute confidence!
some might think that this will cause them to get complacent but i think sven will warn the players about that, if city play like they did against utd i can see them winning by at least 2 goals

Re: English Prem and Carling Cup Final 23/24/25th Feb

i have also placed 2 little interest bets on just for fun!
many will think i'm mad...well i am...completely!!!
bet 1 is man city to win 2-0 with benjani scoring the 1st goal (30/1)
bet 2 is also man city but to win 3-0 also with benjani to score 1st goal (80/1)
do i think either of these are likely to happen...no i dont but it makes things a little more interesting
you never know that could be me tomorrow
