Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd 29th March

Christ komp, you're a brave man! Bit of info for you that'll hopefully make you feel even better...

Rattray, Sellars and Scott all back - our best commanding and organising defender, our key playmaker and captain midfielder, and our essential top scoring striker.

Also previous 4 meetings this season...

Jan 19, 2008 Third Division Arbroath FC 2 - 0 Elgin City
Dec 8, 2007 Third Division Elgin City 1 - 3 Arbroath FC
Oct 27, 2007 FA Cup Arbroath FC 5 - 0 Elgin City
Sep 1, 2007 Third Division Arbroath FC 4 - 0 Elgin City

In fact, we picked up 12 points in the league from them last season too!!

Looking at the stats, 8/5 is massive. Reality, we haven't been in top form this whole season, but have the ability on our day, just depends which Arbroath turns up...

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd 29th March

Steam into Ayr. Undoubtedly the best team in the league when it comes to playing away from home. 4 wins from the last 4 on our travels and that's included comfortable wins at Ross County and Airdrie. Home form (where the pitch is a disgrace) is a joke, but discount that and you've got a totally different team. Way, way, WAY overpriced to beat what is an average Alloa side.

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd 29th March

Kompressaur, i feel you've made a big mistake here. Not just because i think Elgin will win, but just its way too risky for such a big bet. I think the draw is also very possible.

Elgin are undefeated in 6 games going into this one and Arbroaths form has been allover the place. Dropping points to Forfar twice and dumbarton twice recently, while elgin have beaten both these teams in our last 6 games.

This weekend we'll have a few key players back. Top scorer Shallicker (11 goals from 15 starts) is back, along with Steven MacKay back from suspension and hopefully Martin Charlesworth, who had a great run of scoring form last time he returned from injury.

The away games against Arbroath mean nothing, we have always done poorly at thier place. The home game where they beat us 3-1 was a game where Elgin took the lead and where extremely comfortable untill a sending off turned the game and with 10 men we matched Abroath and it was only untill we had a second player sent off that they were comfortable.

Elgin NEED to win this game this weekend, Arbroath don't. Elgin's home record is slightly better than Arbroaths away record.

Two seasons ago, Elgin played Arbroath in a game at Elgin at this time in the season when we needed to win to keep up with them in the playoff race. We weren't given a chance that day and won 4-1.

I think you've made a mistake.

Re: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd 29th March

Thanks City fan. I was a little dismayed to read about the manner of the arbroath win in the 3-1 game. Yes i am already on as i was jumping on the price a bit and yes the Special Brew played its part. I'm still pretty confident though as i feel that Arbroath have got the psychological advantage over your team and i think the need to win factor could actually go against your team on saturday. I think Arbroath's age and experience will count for a lot too and even after reading the reports of Arbroath's last visit to Elgin i think i would back Arbroath at 5/4 upwards still after reading it. Shallicker and Charlseworth are two great players and ones i look out for when playing and here's hoiping for me it will be bad news for at least one of them. As Edin says Arbroath's top scorer Scott is back and

are all back as i was expecting. Arbroath are better on the road although your home form is good. as i say i rate Arbroath's away form more than i do elgin's home form. I dont think getting beat 5-0, 4-0 and 2-0 by a team who's poor at home means nothing City fan. If you take away a 1-0 victory over Albion rovers i dont think Arbroath have won any other home games this season. Why can they beat you so consistantly but not beat anyone else? It's because they have your measure imo and i do think that your season ends on saturday Cityfan. I would like to say i hope im wrong but ive got too much invested in it. Go on Arbroath

dundee have proved themselves a good team this season.....they are sticking to hamiltons coat tails.....they are fighting like tigers......they should be far too strong for a poor team like clyde.....at home as well.....

brechin should get the better of cowdenbeath.....brechin are a far better team....thats for sure.....brechin will be trying 100 per cent....they need a win to keep in touch with the play off places....a draw not much good to them......yes i think brechin will come away with 3 points on saturday......

Re: 29th March: Scottish 1st/2nd/3rd

I think Brechin cowdenbeath has draw written all over it. Cowdenbeath back to close to full stregth. John Dempster to screw over brechin bettors just as he did when they went to brechin last time. Then again the 11/10 is not bad. I dont think Cowdenbetah are that great at home. How did Brechin do on Cowdenbeath's tight pitch last time?

aye Peterhead looks promising Parksy. Is bobby Mann back for them?

im a little worried about Dundee after taking them to win this game that sunday when clyde won 1-0 up there. Aye i dont like Dundee at the odds but good luck those that are on them.

Is Buchanan still out for Partick?

Anyone for Livi to get their scoring boots on to get themselves out of bother? Maybe Stirling will have gave up. too dangerous and bad odds. Im sure i saw 4/5. Nope ill leave that one.

QOS will be looking at cementing their 4th place finish and that should do me with my QOS on the pre season handicap list...shit hold on Hamilton will have bust that out the park

Ayr 5/2 with Bet365. I think i will go and have a piece of that sooner than later.

Bet365 have moved Arbroath in from 8/5 to 13/10 favs for this one now Im almost positive they should be favs

Aye that 13/8 minus one with Sportingbet does look good parksy. I was reading on p&b that Berwick might have 3 players in from Gretna mind. Worth watching

to the city fan......everybody makes mistakes mate......ive made a few this season.....we cant all be right all of the time.....so komp fancys arbroath very strongly....thats his choice....i wouldnt try to tell him he is wrong.....who knows.....he has as good a chance as anybody else in winning......everybody goes with who they think are going to win.....thats it......i would never try to tell somebody that they shouldnt be backing a team or teams.....its their own choice......
