Slick, the split comes after 33 games but this season the situation has been complicated by postponed matches still to be played eg Celtic v Rangers from 2 January. In effect it means that although the scheduled date for the split is this weekend there are still a number of outstanding "pre split" matches to be played. Every team will still play 38 games.
At the moment Celtic have played 30 matches and Rangers 29, so if there is no disruption to the card this weekend Celtic will still have 2 "pre spilt" matches top play and Rangers 3.
The post split fixtures (5 games for every team top and bottom half) will be drawn up after this weekend's matches and published shortly afterwards.
I'm not surprised you are confused
