Re: Non League 21 - 22nd Aug

going away for a few weeks so just a couple of quick midweek bets for me, hemel hempstead to beat wealdstone at 2-1,dont know much about wealdstone this season but they leaked goals for fun last season in the ryman and lost their prized attackers at the end of last season jolly and beckford, lost 3-1 at mangotsfield on saturday. hemel beat cirencester saturday 4-1 with anthoney thomas grabbing a hat trick,i did see hemel play last season at my local side bromsgrove and was extremely impressed with their attaking display[4-0 hemel] so gonna risk them purely on that basis.
also gonna try mangotsfield to beat cirencester at decent odds, more a lay of cirencester really who are tipped to struggle this season. good luck all non leaguers

Re: Non League 21 - 22nd Aug

Hemel at 2/1 do look a decent bet Broms. All Wealdstone had going for them last season was their strike partnership after all and as you say its gone, they havent bought anyone good to come in either. Hemel have a shit hot striker as well.

Re: Non League 21 - 22nd Aug

Wealdstone had their GK sent off on Saturday so don't go by that scoreline alone though boys.

I was contemplating the 13/8 or so on Hemel but will take the 2/1.

I've had quite a few bets already and put together (IMO) a good portfolio for this midweek so I'll be posting them up soon.

Re: Non League 21 - 22nd Aug

Workington away at Gainsborough Trin 3.0 @ Stan James

Trinity have made an excellent start to the season, taking seven points from three games and keeping three clean sheets. I do give them respect for this and the home win over Hincley but drawing with Scarboro' away and beating Lancaster City by the odd goal doesn't convince me that they'll be contenders come May.

Workington on the other hand have played a game less but there's been real quality in their quantity. A magnificent 2-0 win over heavy favourites Kettering Town has their supporters buzzing with the performance of their team. Prior to this they secured a very good goalless draw at traditionally strong-at-home Nuneaton Boro'. So 4 pts there against two real "heavyweights".

As always when it comes down to having a bet on the match you have to work out the expectation that a team will win and contrast it with the odds available. In this particular game I wouldn't make Trinity favourites by that much and would eXpect a price of 11/8 for both or 6/4 for Workington at a push.

I can't belive Stan James are going 3.0 for this one!

2 points on Workington for me.

Re: Non League 21 - 22nd Aug

Dorchester Town to beat Eastleigh @ 2.5 Tuesday.

That's a fantastic price on the home side there. If we were to take Dorchester's last season's home form and Eastleigh's expectations for the coming season we might arrive at a price like that.

However, new Dorchester manager Mick Jenkins has overhauled the squad and until yesteray's 3-0 reverse at Histon was rewarded with a couple of decent results, 4-1 at home to Farnborough and a 1-0 win at Weston. A pre-season 2-1 victory over Bournemouth also had the locals enthusing as to have much the Magpies have progressed.

Opponents Eastleigh were fancied in many quarters to have a good go at this league. Like Dorchester Eastliegh suffered their first deferat of their season going down 3-1 to Welling. Eastleigh signed ex Southampton pair Banali and Dodd over the summer and some fans are wondering if this was purely for commercial reasons as they don't look match fit.

Eastleigh have had a striker crises of late with a number of strikers injured leaving them down to only or two recognised ones available. One who is definitely recognisable (unfortunately for Dorch) is goal-maching Andy Forbes. 19 in this league last season and several hundred to his name lower down the NL pyramid. He is currently comig back from injury and played no part in yesterday's defeat. It looks doubtful whether he'll be included in the squad for this game.

I would've expected a prixe for Dorchester in this game of around 2.2 so for me I'll be having 2 points on he 2.5.

Re: Non League 21 - 22nd Aug

And the "shit hot" striker Muze referred to Anthony Thomas (sp?) bagged a HT at the weekend for Hemel as well.

All match reports will be on NLG before the end of the day.

BTW has anybody seen that Bet365 have extended their margin and now got "winning margin" bets for NL...Interesting. I'll have to sift through that later and do a few for "fun"....

Re: Non League 21 - 22nd Aug

that anthoney thomas had trials at luton last season and on the game i saw him in action was a definite league player in the making, only lightweight but kept coming back for more after getting kicked from pillar to post! took the piss megging defenders etc!
histon 11-8 at welling i could also be on if feedback from the forums is promising

Re: Non League 21 - 22nd Aug

Personally I think is a really decent coupon and you'd be able to find better than the Welling game which looks very drawish IMO.

Forum chatter r.e the Eastlegh game said that Welling were better than them man for man all over the pitch. Histon are off to a flyer though so GL if you take that one one.

Re: Non League 21 - 22nd Aug

My initial thought involve the following home teams:-

Margate

Witton Albion

Fleetwood

Hampton

Halesowen

Bognor

Braintree

Margate and Witton are my top choices as they both had good away wins on Saturday.

Does anyboby agree/disagree with these.

Andy

Re: Non League 21 - 22nd Aug

I like your thinking and will probably see if Bet365 can stick the >1 goal winning margin in a Komp-esque perm later!

Both of those you mention did have storming opening day victories and I may well straight out double them, depends what 365 says about that bet I mentioned. i'll get on the case soon...

Re: Non League 21 - 22nd Aug

Well, I could only find those "Winning Margin" bets for the lower leagues and not Conf North or South. No matter. I've gone for

1Marine to win by 2 or more goals @ 2.80
2Fleetwood Town to win by 2 or more goals @ 3.00
3Witton Albion to win by 2 or more goals @ 3.00
4Margate to win by 2 or more goals @ 3.0

Somethings well wrong with the format there. I'm gonna have a "(Small) man size single" on Hampton and R on this market but the above I whacked on two quid doubles, trips and the big boy. if my maths is right I just need two from them four to double my stake. Fantastic!

Yeah, it's super doopa.

Just realised my maths is obviously wrong as it's around 50% profit there for the double.

Re: Non League 21 - 22nd Aug

Some fairly interesting results here....

FCS: FT Fisher Athletic 3-0 Cambridge City

FCS: FT Havant and W 2-0 Farnborough

UNI: FT Ashton Utd 0-5 AFC Telford

Nice to see Telford getting something going.
