Ive seen Liverpool are 5/4 at Skybet, so if anyone wants Liverpool that MIGHT be a stand out price. Not sure cos only 3 books out but both the others go odds on. Theyre a lay at odds on imo

Re: Eng Premiership 9/11th Sep

It was indeed a standout price and soon got cut but still a standout price 6/5 at Stanjames for and Liverpool backers. Just pointing it out, im not taking it but I realise probably gona be some people backing them here.

Ok some stats on the Everton v Liverpool encounter, just because stats are sweet and I like looking at them

Recent History

Last 6 Goodison derbies, Liverpool have won 5 of them. The one win for Everton coming in the season we came 4th.

All 5 of those Liverpool wins went over 2.5 so plenty of goals, in contrast to the common notion on derby games. StanJames go 5/4 on the over 2.5 goals.

Everton have only won 1 of the last 13 derbies home or away. 4 have been draws, 8 Liverpool wins.

(For my own sanity I would like to point out that before that run of 13 I just mentioned Liverpool were on a run of only beating us once in 11 attempts )

Overall match up stats in the Premiership

Since the Premiership began the stats at Goodison are (Everton wins first) 4-4-5

Since the Premiership began the stats at Anfield are (Liverpool wins first) 5-6-2

Everton wins - 6
Draws - 10
Liverpool wins - 10

Bolton and Newcastle look quite nice there , i know odds on are frowned upon in the manor but I think the mags look ok this year , obviously Sibierski will prove to be a huge mistake nevertheless I can see parker dominatin the midfield , no Steed for Fulham either , Jimmy Bullwinkle is effective for Fulham but i see home win all over. Head to heads reveal goals and upsets !

Yeah im not one to say it usually but 4/5 aint too bad for Newcastle. If Fulham carry on the poor away form that is, they really were shocking on the road last season at 1-4-14.

Liverpool are 5/4 on lads shop coupon and the managers have been informed that they have to phone up and get authorisation of any bets over £500. I think thay are expecting quiet a big punt on the price.

Cant agree on West Ham/Villa. Think its a real mugs game to be betting on tbh as I wouldnt be suprised at any result. Both sides started ok & both well organised, but West Hams new players could take a while to bed in rather than be a guaranteed early success. I'm not pushing Villa here at all but it wouldnt suprise me as the players will want to prove a point after losing this 4 nil last season. O'Neill will have them well organised for this & although West Hams price is tempting the reason for that is the game is unbackable in my eyes.

Edit - I'm not calling anybody a mug there btw, just my terminology on the fixture

Re: Eng Premiership 9/11th Sep

I realy like A.Villa this weekend, AH +0.25 at 2.1 BET365 , important question is if West Hams new boys will be in starting 11, I don't think that adjusting to Premiership is just a matter of watching video, both Tevez and Mascherano are coming from brazilian football and never played outside south america, I wish them well but I also think that it will take them some time.

It was never an easy fixture for West Ham ( 2-5-2 at Upton Park) and looking at Villas recent results we may expect it will be a tough one.

I've heard something like both Tev. & Mas. are guaranted first teem football, I can't remember where I heard or read that info, can anyone confirm?

Re: Eng Premiership 9/11th Sep

Hi people. Not an expert in UK footy, but I really like odds on Prtsmouth this weekend around @1.90... Can the Pompey continue they undefeated run against Wigan? Is it worth backing them this round?

Few things worry me. Wigan won a lot of away games last season... More than Arsenal I think... Second, they played some nice footy against Newcastle, even they lost that game... Good thing that go on Pompey side is that Wigan lost DeZeeuw and Chimbonda in tranfer market this season, and that is certanly big blow for their defence... Camara is out, and I was never big fan of Emile Heskey... Hope Camara will be big blow for them in this round...
Ognjen Koroman spoked to national Serbian newspapers that spirits are high in Portsmouth (but he is not the brightest, if u know what I mean, so I don't belive in his words so much)...

Newcastle – Fulham

Pick: Newcaslte (-0.5)
Odds: 1.80 @ Stan James
Stake: 6/10

Newcastle brought new players in the final hours of transfer window. Although they didn’t brought world class names, they strengthened their squad with Sibiersky who will be support striker, Rossi young talented player and Bernard left back who will be much better opinion than Babayaro, IMO.

Fulham the best signing this season, Routledgeprobably will start be on the bench. Coleman cannot count on Elrich and Elliot, but the return of Brown and Jensen in the midfield will be huge boost for the visitors.

Newcastle is well known as team who is very strong in front of home fans and team from which is expected top football. And Newcastle is playing much better at home than away. Newcastle is having strong team this season too. They brought some quality names like Duff and Martins, but they didn’t strengthen the defensive line, the line that was too weakest one in previous seasons. Only player who worth to be mentioned is Given who is the main reason that Newcastle is not conceding a lot of goals. All 4 in front of him, are playing on Championship level.

Fulham is team, just like Newcastle, home team too. They are playing much worse away than home. Last season they managed to win only one match away and that was in the last rounds. I think that Fuham is not stronger than last years and I expect them to fight against relegation this season too. They lost the key players from their midfield from previous seasons, Malbranque and Legwinski and see their midfield struggle in all matches especially against teams with very good midfield like Newcastle.

In my opinion, Newcastle will dominate in the midfield and will put pressure to Fuham’s goal and, to be honest, Fulham cannot resist on pressure because their defense is one of the weakest in the league. My only fear is their counter attack with Boa Morte and John upfront, but I believe that Newcastle is good enough to take win from this match.

I'd be happy to come away from Goodison with a point tomorrow, it's a tough one to call imo and Graham Poll will probably decide the result, a big bookings game surely?

I'd be happy too, mate. Sissoko will be back and thats a big boost, however Carra and Riise still out - on the other hand both Crouch and Kuyt scored in Euro2008 qualifiers so maybe we will see not only lots of bookings but some goals as well?

over 2.5 @ 2.33 BET365 , I'll have a bit of that one, small stakes though
